GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Sunrise Mountain wins thriller at home against Desert Pines

Destiny Favela’s 10 aces, two kills and three blocks led the way in the Sunrise Mountain girls volleyball team’s home victory over Desert Pines on Monday, 25-22, 25-27, 17-25, 25-14, 15-11.

Alyssa Guevara-Canales had three aces, two kills and two digs, Anahis Nava added 22 assists for Sunrise Mountain, which got eight kills from Daniela Robledo-Toribio.

Meleane Ngvae led Desert Pines with nine aces and two kills. Ani’ya Manghum had three kills and one dig, Vira Tavita had four blocks, and Michelle Rhodes had three aces for the Jaguars.

Pahrump Valley 3, Mojave 2 — At Pahrump, Alexis Trieb had 23 kills to lead the Trojans to a five-set win over the Rattlers, 21-25, 25-16, 25-8, 15-25, 15-8.

Koral Hearn added nine kills and three blocks, and Jill Smith had three aces and 22 assists for Pahrump, which also got three aces and 20 assists from Jackie Stobbe.

Savannah Blanchard-Davis had eight kills and four aces to lead the Rattlers.

Yasmit Sanchez had six blocks, Samantha Rebolledo had four aces, and Sua Estrada dished out 34 assists for Mojave.

Las Vegas 3, Valley 0 — At Las Vegas, Renice Sueno had 11 kills, nine aces and six blocks in the Wildcats’ 25-8, 25-8, 25-15 sweep of the Vikings.

Nona-Rae Stewart had 27 assists, and Anna Dobbins had 17 digs for Las Vegas, which got eight kills from Alexandria Roberson.

For Valley, Kiara Brown had four kills, and Kyla King and Gabriella Morales each had a pair of aces.

Palo Verde 3, Centennial 0 — At Centennial, Arien Fafard had 11 kills and 12 assists to carry the Panthers over the Bulldogs, 25-20, 26-24, 25-23.

Carli Tanner had 11 digs and nine kills for the Panthers, and teammate Mia Sadler had 11 assists and 10 digs.

Talie Bonds had 20 assists and seven digs to lead Centennial. Danyale Berry had 15 kills and seven blocks, and Siara Roberts had 12 assists, eight digs, seven blocks and six kills for the Bulldogs.

Arbor View 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Arbor View, Sarah Goddard had 17 kills and six digs to lead the Aggies to a sweep of the Spartans, 25-10, 25-22, 25-18.

Trinity Chen added nine kills, one ace and three digs, and Alyson Jeeves had four kills, 35 assists and four aces for Arbor View, which got two aces and 12 digs from Alyssa Jeeves.

Logan DeLong had 10 kills, six assists, four aces and six digs to lead the Spartans. Alexandra Payan had four assists, an ace and 19 digs for Cimarron.

Cheyenne 3, Western 0 — At Cheyenne, Leerah Hunt had four aces and three kills to lead the Desert Shields past the Warriors, 25-15, 25-14, 25-10.

Tia Echols had six kills, and Imara Mullins had four aces for the Desert Shields.

Janessa Dunton had three kills, and Nikki Riggs dished out five assists for the Warriors.

Liberty Baptist 3, Word of Life 0 — At Liberty Baptist, Valerie Martin had 11 aces, four kills, three assists and six digs to lead Liberty Baptist to a 25-15, 25-13, 25-23 win.

Jade Halverson added five kills, eight assists and six digs, and teammate Brianna Martin had five kills, seven digs and four aces for Liberty Baptist.

Canyon Springs 3, Eldorado 1 — At Canyon Springs, Celestial Miller had 14 kills and seven aces to lead the Pioneers to a 22-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-22 victory over the Sundevils.

Ashamii Henderson added seven kills, and Yemiyah Morris had six kills and four blocks the Pioneers.

Charlene Gassett led Eldorado with four kills, and Kiana Parkes had three kills and seven digs for the Sundevils.
