BOYS SOCCER: Cimarron-Memorial wins thriller over Tech

Arturo Bahena scored the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute Friday to lead Cimarron-Memorial’s boys soccer team to a 3-2 win at Tech.

Miguel Rubio had a goal and an assist for the Spartans, who also got a goal from Kevin Andrade.

Gabe Natividad and Joel Velazquez scored for Tech.

Bonanza 1, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Carlos Picos scored a second-half goal to help the Bengals tie the Skyhawks.

Chris Shehadeh had a first-half goal for Silverado.

Cheyenne 9, Basic 0 — At Basic, Alberto Gramajo’s two goals and one assist led the Desert Shields by the Wolves.

Otoniel Hernandez scored two goals for Cheyenne. Jessy Zapata, Daniel Gonzalez, Gustavo Martenez, Jesus Martenez and Noe Martenez also scored for Cheyenne, which got two assists from Andres Trujillo.

Goalkeeper Joshua Hernandez played all 80 minutes and had three saves for the Desert Shields.

Coronado 6, Lowry 0 — At Elko, John Lynam had one goal and three assists, and Jack Hamilton added two goals and one assist to lead the Cougars by the Buckaroos in the Spring Creek Cup.

Preston Judd scored twice, and Grant Smyth had two assists for Coronado, which led 2-0 at halftime.

Harrison Skinner had the shutout for the Cougars.

Coronado 9, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Elko, Judd had three goals and two assists, and Lynam had three goals and one assist as the Cougars routed the Trojans in the Spring Creek Cup.

Alfredo Diaz had a goal and an assist, and Harrison Mirolla had two assists for Coronado, which also got goals from Hamilton and Mason Phifer.

Skinner recorded the shutout.

Desert Pines 6, Liberty 1 — At Desert Pines, Emanuel Calo’s three goals and one assist carried the Jaguars by the Patriots.

Joel Sanchez scored twice for the Jaguars, who also got a goal from Edgar Sierra.

R.J. Soriano scored for Liberty.

Green Valley 2, Legacy 0 — At Green Valley, Estevan Uribe and Agustin Molina scored goals to lead the Gators by the Longhorns.

Byron Andrade and Angel Arambula each had an assist for Green Valley.

Goalkeeper Deven Scott earned the shutout with six saves.

Las Vegas 2, Chaparral 0 — At Las Vegas, Fernando Gomez and Noel Osorio scored to send the Wildcats past the Cowboys.

Augustin Hernandez and Alejandro Graciano each had an assist, and Chris Sosa made two saves to record the shutout.

Mojave 2, Virgin Valley 1 — At Mojave, Chris Reyes had a goal and an assist, and the Rattlers hung on to defeat the Bulldogs.

Jesus Ubario also had a goal for Mojave, which led 2-0 at halftime.

Christian Martinez scored for Virgin Valley.

Pahrump Valley 1, Spring Creek 1 — At Elko, Bailey Crawford had a goal to allow the Trojans to tie the Spartans in the Spring Creek Cup.

Alvaro Garcia had an assist for Pahrump Valley.

Palo Verde 2, Durango 0 — At Palo Verde, Levi Lord earned the shutout with five saves to lift the Panthers by the Trailblazers.

Anthony Kaskie and Zechariah Ruffer scored for Palo Verde.
