TENNIS: Mangan, Basic boys edge Jaguars

Gavin Mangan went 3-0 in singles Friday to help Basic’s boys tennis team pull out a 10-8 road win over Desert Pines.

Nick Stellavato was 2-1 in singles for the Wolves.

Desert Pines’ Oscar Murillo and Kim Halasan each finished 2-1 in singles.

The doubles teams of Alfredo Murillo and Jose Ruiz and Kevin Giron and Adan Cano each went 2-1 for the Jaguars.

Faith Lutheran 14, Arbor View 4 — At Arbor View, the doubles team of Jonah Grepke and Charlie Magruder and Zach Smith and Donovan Evangelio each went 3-0 to lead the Crusaders past the Aggies.

Chad Decker was 2-1 in singles for Arbor View.

Bishop Gorman 14, Spring Valley 4 — At Gorman, the doubles team of Michael Connors and Grant Rogers went 3-0 to lead the Gaels by the Grizzlies.

Matt Lamb and Max Wolfson each went 2-1 in singles for Gorman.

Spring Valley’s Chris Zimmerman was 3-0 in singles.

Centennial 14, Shadow Ridge 4 — At Centennial, Justin Madsen and Chase Kleinman each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Bulldogs by the Mustangs.

The doubles teams of Ethan Wispear and Kelby Sosa, Kade Frischknecht and Steven Felt, and Dawson Stratton and Aaron Amacher each went 2-0 for Centennial.

Loren McHargue was 2-0 in singles for Shadow Ridge.

Legacy 13, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Legacy, Erik Barranca went 3-0 in singles to lift the Longhorns by the Spartans.

Cimarron-Memorial’s doubles team of Eric Forbush and Neal Baird went 2-1.

Bonanza 12, Sierra Vista 6 — At Bonanza, Weston Clark and Mark Thuet went 3-0 in singles to lead the Bengals by the Mountain Lions.

The doubles team of Justin Balconi and Chance DeRiso went 3-0 for Bonanza.

Boulder City 17, Tech 1 — At Tech, Bretton Erlanger and Andre Papas each went 3-0 in singles as the Eagles routed the Roadrunners.

Palo Verde 13, The Meadows 5 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers defeated the Mustangs.

Virgin Valley 12, Chaparral 0 — At Mesquite, the Bulldogs won by forfeit.

Rancho 12, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Rancho, the Rams won by forfeit.

Las Vegas 12, Valley 0 — At Valley, the Wildcats won by forfeit.

GIRLS

Desert Pines 10, Basic 9 — Wislande Olibrice finished 2-0 in singles and won the tiebreaker as the Jaguars defeated the Wolves.

The doubles team of Shelly Alvarado and Yazaret Arrendondo went 3-0 for Desert Pines, and teammates Veronica Palacios and Cassandra Bueno each went 2-1 in singles.

Tjaden Giles went 3-0 in singles for Basic.

Centennial 14, Shadow Ridge 4 — At Centennial, Sara Altfas, Lovely Warner-McRoy and Macie Stratton all went 3-0 in singles to power the Bulldogs by the Mustangs.

The doubles team of Samantha Milanovich and Caitlyn Covington went 3-0 for Shadow Ridge.

Legacy 14, Cimarron-Memorial 4 — At Legacy, Emma Shepherd and Ally Stolworthy each went 3-0 to spark the Longhorns past the Spartans.

Blake Berkabile was 2-1 in singles for Legacy.

Boulder City 14, Tech 4 — At Tech, Tegan Pappas and Natalie Bowman both finished 3-0 in singles as the Eagles downed the Roadrunners.

The doubles team of Kyra Yamamoto and McKenna Frazier also went 3-0 for Boulder City.

Virgin Valley 14, Chaparral 4 — At Mesquite, Emily Leavitt, Jackie Hughes and Talia Hansen all went 3-0 in singles to power the Bulldogs by the Cowboys.

The doubles team of Haley Allen and Emma Wilson also was 3-0 for Virgin Valley.

Bishop Gorman 16, Spring Valley 2 — At Bishop Gorman, Kaylin Honan and Emma Thompson each went 2-0 in singles as the Gaels defeated the Grizzlies.

Faith Lutheran 16, Arbor View 2 — At Arbor View, Madison Foley went 1-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Sophia Longi and Terrah Miura went 1-0 as the Crusaders routed the Aggies.

Palo Verde 15, The Meadows 3 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers downed the Mustangs.

Las Vegas 12, Valley 0 — At Valley, the Wildcats won by forfeit.

Eldorado 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Eldorado, the Sundevils won by forfeit.

Sierra Vista-Bonanza — At Bonanza, the match was suspended due to darkness with Sierra Vista leading 10-7.

A date for the resumption of the match was not announced.
