The junior won the junior-senior boys race at the Labor Day Invitational at Palo Verde, covering the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 44.4 seconds.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Alexis Gourrier, Centennial
The junior won junior-senior girls race at the Labor Day Invitational at Palo Verde with a time of 19 minutes, 37.5 seconds for 3.1 miles. Gourrier helped the Bulldogs win the team title.

Kenyon Oblad, Liberty
The junior quarterback passed for 299 yards and three touchdowns as the Patriots pulled off a road upset with a 21-14 victory over Westlake (Texas). Westlake entered the game ranked No. 16 in the nation by USA Today.

GIRLS GOLF
Victoria Estrada, Coronado
The sophomore shot 2-under-par 70 at Anthem Country Club to help the Cougars easily win a Southeast League match. It was the lowest 18-hole score of Estrada’s high school career.

John Lynam, Coronado
The junior had six goals and four assists in three games at the Spring Creek Cup in Elko. Lynam has an area-best eight goals and six assists for the season.

Alexis Kirson, Green Valley
The senior forward had nine goals and one assist last week to help the Gators win two of their three games.

Chris Zimmerman, Spring Valley
The senior went 6-0 in singles sets in matches against Bonanza and Bishop Gorman. Zimmerman accounted for three of his team’s four points against Gorman.

Tegan Pappas, Boulder City
The freshman started her high school career by going 6-0 in singles in matches against Virgin Valley and Tech to help the Eagles to a 2-0 start.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Sua Estrada, Mojave
The senior setter led the Rattlers to their first two wins of the season. Estrada finished with 27 assists in Mojave’s 3-1 victory over Tech and followed that up with a 55-assist performance in a 3-1 win at Valley.
