BOYS SOCCER: Alex Mejia’s late goal gives Tech win over Eldorado

Alex Mejia scored off an assist from Andres Santana with three minutes remaining Thursday as Tech’s boys soccer team edged host Eldorado, 3-2.

Santana also scored two goals for the Roadrunners. Agustin Nunez and Eduardo Lopez-Garcia each had assists.

Jesus Meza and Francisco Ulloa-Tapia scored for the Sundevils.

Del Sol 6, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Sergio Calderon scored three goals, and Diego Nieves had two goals and three assists as the Dragons defeated the Mountain Lions.

Erik Serrano added a goal for Del Sol, which led 4-2 at the half.

Daniel Perez scored both goals, one on a penalty kick, for Sierra Vista.

Silverado 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Tristian Alvarez, Jaime Ayala and David Matias scored in the first half to lift the Skyhawks past the Jaguars.

Joel Sanchez had a second-half goal for Desert Pines.

Shadow Ridge 3, Spring Valley 3 — At Spring Valley, the Mustangs scored two second-half goals after trailing 3-1 to earn a tie with the Grizzlies.

Shadow Ridge’s Chase Castro scored his second goal on a penalty kick to cut the lead to 3-2, and Jack Guynn tied the game on a free kick with 15 minutes remaining.

David Van Hoose had two goals and an assist to lead Spring Valley, which also got a goal from Ethan Orme.

Basic 3, Moapa Valley 3 — At Overton, Brendan Kirkendall scored three goals — two on penalty kicks in the second half — as the Wolves rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit to tie the Pirates.

Kirkendall’s second goal of the second half put the Wolves up 3-2 late in the game, but Brian Robles scored on a penalty kick to force the tie.

Frans-Josef Biebl and Gabriel Hernandez each scored for the Pirates. Robles also had an assist.

Sunrise Mountain 5, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Musio Jimenez-Vazquez and Jose Arreola each had two goals and an assist as the Miners blanked the Bulldogs.

Arturo Garibay-Chavero added a goal for Sunrise Mountain, and Anthony Acedo made two saves to get the shutout.
