BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Bruce Troncoso paces Tech to win Del Sol meet

Bruce Troncoso won a 2.75-mile race in 15 minutes, 48.6 seconds to help Tech win a four-team meet at Del Sol on Wednesday.

Tech, which had 24 points, had three racers finish in the top five and five in the top 10. Del Sol was second with 28, and Moapa Valley had 50. Chaparral did not field a complete team.

Moapa Valley’s Jerrick Stasny finished second with a time of 16:05.6.

Basic wins eight-team meet

At Foothill, Steven Birch, Jacob Kissman and Seth Blackwell each finished in the top five to help Basic win an eight-team meet.

The Wolves finished with 32 points, edging second-place Foothill (37). Valley was third with 94 points.

Silverado’s Omar Aguilar-Espinoza won the 2.5-mile race in 13:26. Justin Neubeck of Foothill was second (13:30.8).

Birch (13:32.9) was third, just ahead of Kissman (13:33.3). Blackwell was fifth in 13:48.8.
