CROSS COUNTRY: Faith Lutheran wins boys, Tech takes girls at Moapa Valley Invitational

Five Faith Lutheran runners finished in the top 10 at the 3.1-mile Moapa Valley Invitational, including Koby Ghadery, who finished third, and Adam Ganz (fifth), to carry the Crusaders’ boys cross country team to victory in Overton on Saturday.

Ghadery clocked a 17:41.6 and Ganza finished with a time of 17:43.9.

Faith Lutheran finished with a team score of 33, topping Tech (57) and Pahrump Valley (73).

Pahrump’s Bryce Odegard won the meet, coming in with a time of 16:36.6. Jovan Ibarra of Desert Pines was second at 17:32.4, and Tech’s Bruce Troncoso was fourth at 17:43.6.

Girls

Four Tech runners finished in the top eight slots to lead the Roadrunners girls cross country team to win the 3.1-mile Moapa Valley Invitational on Saturday in Overton.

Diamond Morris had Tech’s best time at 21:29.1, which was good for fourth. Following her was Eden Tesfay at 21:51.3, and Jaqueline Canas-Rodriguez at 22:04.5, which were fifth and sixth, respectively.

Tech’s winning team score was 40. Second was Faith Lutheran at 52 and Pahrump Valley at 83.

Faith Lutheran had the top two times, including winner Kendall Larson at 20:45.8 and Sadie Oakley at 21:17.0, but only one other Crusader placed in the top 15.
