CROSS COUNTRY: Liam Jones carries Clark to victory

Liam Jones won a 3-mile race at Floyd Lamb Park on Tuesday to lead Clark to victory in a nine-team meet.

Jones won the race in 16 minutes, 16.6 seconds as the Chargers finished with 35 points.

Palo Verde finished second with a score of 46, led by second-place finisher Sawyer Epstein (16:46.9).

Faith Lutheran (87), Arbor View (113) and Bishop Gorman (118) rounded out the top five.

Arbor View’s Trevor Pearl was third individually in 16:55.6.

GIRLS

At Floyd Lamb Park, Palo Verde took the top four spots and finished with 17 points to win a six-team meet.

Emma Wahlenmaier finished the 3-mile race in 18:10.6 to lead the Panthers, who had seven of the top nine finishers.

Tori Landers was second in 19:15.7, followed by Grace Edwards (19:26.4) and Jessica Bialas (19:47.9).

Arbor View was second with 51 points, followed by Clark (98) and Bishop Gorman (100).
