VOLLEYBALL: Durango hands Bonanza first league loss

Naomi Harris finished with 16 kills and 12 digs, and Durango’s girls volleyball team held off Bonanza 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-9 on Thursday, handing the Bengals their first loss in the Southwest League.
Makenzi Abelman had eight kills, 34 assists and 15 digs for the Trailblazers, who got 23 digs from Casey Howard.
Taryn Warner led Bonanza with 18 kills and five blocks. Sydney Dunn had 31 assists and four blocks, and Chianna Rodriguez added 52 digs for the Bengals.
Rancho 3, Desert Oasis 2 — At Desert Oasis, Karime Raygoza had 17 kills and 17 digs, and Leiana Nacapuy added 36 assists and four aces as the Rams held off the Diamondbacks, 25-12, 25-19, 22-25, 23-25, 15-12.
Sam Pochop had 10 kills and six blocks for Rancho, and teammate Taylor Ewing finished with five kills, eight aces and two blocks.
Kaia Rhodes had 10 kills and five digs, and Laityn Sarna tallied two kills, 33 assists and 15 digs to lead Desert Oasis.
Kira Beckerle had nine kills, 24 digs and two aces, and Kaaleya Price had nine kills for the Diamondbacks, who got 18 digs from Audrey McDaniel.
Silverado 3, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Sydney Berenyi had 25 kills and nine digs to power the Skyhawks over the Falcons.
Tehani Faitau added 39 assists for Silverado, and teammate MacKenzie Carter added 10 kills and 19 digs. Kaylynn Smith had 15 digs for the Skyhawks.
Whitley Brow led Foothill with 15 kills and eight digs. Miley McCall added 23 assists and eight digs, and Madison Hill had seven kills and two digs for the Falcons.
Green Valley 3, Liberty 0 — At Green Valley, Rachel Klopfer had 18 kills, three aces, eight digs and two blocks to lead the Gators to a 25-17, 25-23, 25-13 sweep of the Patriots.
Abigail Olsen had seven kills, 28 assists, three aces and seven digs, Emily Flowers had two aces and 21 digs, and Carlee Becker had four aces and seven digs for Green Valley.
Alexandra Farnsworth had 10 kills and four digs to lead Liberty.
Erika Martinez had 15 digs, and Aaliyah Ward added eight assists and four digs for the Patriots.
Boulder City 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Maggie Roe had 17 kills and nine digs as the Eagles defeated the Roadrunners, 25-9, 25-10, 25-19.
Jerra Hinson added six kills, and Lexi Bringle had 11 digs for Boulder City, which got four aces from Ashleigh Wood.
Sierra Vista 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Sierra Vista, Aria Holmes notched 10 kills and four digs to lead the Mountain Lions to a 25-23, 25-14, 25-13 sweep of the Grizzlies.
Mackenzie Bowlen added six aces for Sierra Vista.
Bishop Gorman 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Abbey Archambault had seven kills and four aces to lead the Gaels to a 25-14, 25-9, 25-6 sweep of the Chargers.
Hanna Karl had nine kills, Reese Rossnagel had eight kills, and Tommi Stockholm had seven kills for Gorman.
Lilly Hoff dished out 23 assists for the Gaels, and teammate Sydney Lobato had four aces and 18 assists.
Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Dallas Balanay-Flores had 23 assists to guide the Cougars to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-16 win over the Wolves.
Madison Karcich supplied nine kills and nine digs, and Zoe Lier put down 12 kills for Coronado, which got 11 digs fom Taylor Reich.
Moapa Valley 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, JaLea Blasingame had nine kills to lead the Pirates to a sweep of the Dragons, 25-7, 25-3, 25-7.
Dannika Gordon had three kills and five aces, and Aria Messer had two aces and dished out 12 assists for the Pirates.
Virgin Valley 3, Chaparral 0 — At Mesquite, Bernice Fiso had seven kills as the Bulldogs rolled to a 25-12, 25-11, 25-17 victory over the Cowboys.
Calee Clem added 10 assists, and Jessica Barnum had seven aces for Virgin Valley.
Alyssa Porras had four kills to lead Chaparral.
Lincoln County 2-2, Lake Mead 0-0 — At Panaca, the Lynx beat the Eagles, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-15, 25-21.
Cameron Lloyd and Kendra Mathews each had eight kills to lead Lincoln County in the opener, and teammate Marinda Lamb had 20 assists and two aces. Brooklyn Hafen added seven kills and nine digs for the Lynx.
In the second match, Hafen had eight kills, and Kailey Kelley had seven kills, six blocks and five digs to lead Lincoln County.
Innovations International 3, Somerset-Losee 0 — At Somerset-Losee, Metzi Sosa had 11 aces, and teammate Victoria Schiavo added eight aces to help the Ambassadors to a 27-25, 25-11, 25-18 win over the Lions.
Pahranagat Valley 3, Word of Life 0 — At Word of Life, the Panthers defeated the Eagles.
