Top athletes: LIB Gisela Gutierrez (Sr.), OH Tia Echols (So.)

Outlook: The Desert Shields took their lumps last season, but are hoping to be improved this year.

“This year’s team is full of excited young players willing to work hard to establish this program as one of the top teams in the new 3A Sunset League,” Armstrong said. “Guided by the leadership of our few seniors, we plan on having a winning season and being successful in the playoffs.”
