TENNIS: Ava Bailey’s win clinches victory over Gorman girls

Ava Bailey won only one set for the Bishop Gorman girls tennis team on Monday, but it gave the Gaels 10-8 road victory over Faith Lutheran.
Gorman’s Angelique Friedrich went 3-0. The teams of Olivia Maalouf and Amanda Adolfo, as well as Courtney Wolfson and Olivio Baleo each went 2-1 in doubles for the Gaels.
Madison Foley and Kennedy Barr each went 2-1 in singles for Faith Lutheran.
Coronado 12, Durango 0 — At Coronado, the Cougars defeated the Trailblazers by forfeit.
Rancho 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, the Rams defeated the Desert Shields by forfeit.
BOYS
Bishop Gorman 14, Faith Lutheran 4 — At Faith Lutheran, Billy McDonald and Jack Silvestri went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Gaels over the Crusaders.
Gorman’s Michael Connors and Grant Rogers went 2-0 in doubles, and teammate Daniel Kinas was 2-0 in singles.
Faith Lutheran’s Spencer Scarcelli and Charlie Magruder won lone singles set.
Coronado 16, Durango 2 — At Coronado, the doubles team of Javid Habashi and Sebastian Frace went 2-0 to lead the Cougars over teh Trailblazers.
Rancho 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, the Rams beat the Desert Shields by forfeit.
