BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Ian Jackson leads Aggies to win

Ian Jackson and Tim Myers finished first and second Thursday to lead Arbor View’s boys cross country team to victory in a six-team meet at Floyd Lamb Park.

Jackson won the 3.1-mile race in 17 minutes, 18 seconds, and Myers was second in 17:39.5 to lead the Aggies, who finished with 24 points.

Centennial (38) was second and Faith Lutheran (72) finished third.

Centennial’s Nicholas Hanson (18:11.6) and Alexander Miller (18:35.6) finished third and fourth, respectively. Arbor View’s Noah Ayala (19:00.5) was fifth.

Palo Verde takes five-team meet

At Shadow Ridge, Palo Verde took three of the top five spots and rolled to the team title with 24 points.

Shadow Ridge was second with 46.

Evelio Vergara took the individual title, winning the 2.6-mile race in 17:14. Bonanza’s Brandon Adams was second in 17:44, and Palo Verde’s Trevor Goldsmith (18:02) finished third.

Nyberg, Valley win meet

At Las Vegas, Valley’s Joshua Nyberg won the 2.7-mile race in 16:22.2 to lead the Vikings to the team title with 31 points.

Las Vegas was second with 35, and Rancho had 70.

Rancho’s Jordan Stebbins finished second individually with a time of 16:57.6. Valley’s David Tegtmeyer was third in 17:09.6.

Gators capture six-team meet

At Cornerstone Park, Green Valley had the top three individual finishers to win a six-team meet with 43 points.

Basic was second with 52, and Foothill finished third with 55.

Omar Rubio won the 2.5-mile race in 17:14.3. Dartanyon Jones (17:42.8) was second, and Milton Amezcua (17:47.6) finished third.
