RECRUITING: Findlay Prep’s P.J. Washington, Centennial’s Troy Brown lead 2017 basketball recruiting class

Findlay Prep’s P.J. Washington and Centennial’s Troy Brown are considered the state’s top two basketball recruits in the class of 2017.
Washington is ranked 16th overall in the ESPN 100 and is the state’s top recruit. Brown is the No. 28 recruit in the ESPN 100; however, he is ahead of Washington on Scout.com (No. 11 and No. 14 overall).
Washington, a 6-foot-9-inch power forward, has scholarship offers from Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan State, Memphis, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, UNLV and Wake Forest.
Brown, a 6-6 guard who recently played on the USA Men’s U17 basketball team that won gold in Zaragoza, Spain, holds scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Duke, Georgetown, Kansas, Louisville, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, UCLA and UNLV.
The seven players below are the remaining top Southern Nevada recruits in the class of 2017. They are listed in order of their collective rankings.
Charles O’Bannon Jr., Bishop Gorman
The 6-6 guard is a five-star prospect and the 23rd overall player on ESPN.com. He is a four-star prospect on Scout.com. O’Bannon trimmed his recruiting list to Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina State, Oregon, Texas, UCLA, UNLV and Washington on May 31.
Oshae Brissett, Findlay Prep
Brissett is a four-star prospect and the 80th overall player in the ESPN 100. The 6-6 forward, who is rated three stars on Scout.com, holds scholarship offers from California, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA and UNLV.
Isaiah Banks, Centennial
Banks is a consensus three-star prospect on recruiting websites. The 6-3 point guard, who was an all-state honorable mention last season, has a scholarship offer from Eastern Kentucky.
Christian Popoola Jr., Bishop Gorman
Popoola is a three-star prospect on ESPN.com, and is unranked on Scout.com. The 6-3 point guard has scholarship offers from Memphis, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rice, Richmond, San Diego State, Southern California, UNLV, Utah State and Washington State.
Trevon Abdullah, Desert Pines
Abdullah, who recently decommitted from UNR, is a three-star prospect on Scout.com and a two-star recruit on ESPN.com. The 6-5 forward also has a scholarship offer from Utah State.
Jerell Springer, Shadow Ridge
Springer is a three-star prospect on ESPN.com. The 6-6 shooting guard has one scholarship offer from Pacific, but is receiving interest from Southern California, UCLA, Virginia Tech and Weber State.
Darian Scott, Centennial
Scott is a two-star prospect on ESPN.com. The 6-8 center has scholarship offers from Campbell University (North Carolina), Coppin State, Cornell, Fresno State, Southern Utah and UNR.
