VOLLEYBALL: Cameron sparks Diamondbacks to five-set win over Wolves

Billy Cameron had 29 kills, five aces, three blocks and two digs Friday as the Desert Oasis boys volleyball team outlasted Basic, 18-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Cameron put down 11 of his 29 kills in the fifth set to spark the Diamondbacks.

Chris Gama added seven kills and four blocks, Jacob Dufour had eight kills and three blocks, and Bryson Sadama had 25 digs for Desert Oasis.

Joshua Sadama had 28 assists and three digs, and Tyler Sadama notched 22 assists and eight digs for the Diamondbacks, who also got six kills from Dylan Sadama.

Jackson Callister led Basic with 16 kills. Matt Gajeski dished out 32 assists, and Jeremy Schafer had seven blocks for the Wolves.

Bonanza 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Robby Adair had 15 kills and nine digs to lead the Bengals to a 25-15, 25-12, 25-18 victory over the Jaguars.

Bronson Duckworth had six kills, six digs and five aces, and teammte Luis Raygoza had 20 assists for Bonanza.

Estanislao Lansangan led Desert Pines with four kills and three assists. Karlo Lansangan added five assists and five digs, and Carlos Flores notched four blocks for the Jaguars.

Coronado 2, Granite Hills-El Cajon (Calif.) 1 — At San Diego, the Cougars beat the Eagles 25-22, 21-25, 16-14 in the Scripps Ranch Invitational.

Coronado 2, Hilltop (Calif.) 0 — At San Diego, the Cougars swept the Lancers 25-13, 25-15 in the Scripps Ranch Invitational.

Bishop Gorman 2, Coronado 0 — At San Diego, the Gaels downed the Cougars 25-23, 25-23 in the Scripps Ranch Invitational.
