GOLF: Trent shoots 6-under, leads Palo Verde to Southern Nevada Invitational title

Jack Trent shot 6-under-par 66 at DragonRidge on Wednesday to win the individual title and help Palo Verde win the team championship in the Southern Nevada Invitational.

Trent had a 36-hole total of 8-under 136 to win by five strokes over Coronado’s Dylan Fritz, Palo Verde’s Joe Ender and Shadow Ridge’s Mitchell Stark.

Palo Verde’s Cameron Barzekoff, Shadow Ridge’s Tanner Johnson and Pahrump Valley’s Austen Ancell all finished at 1-under.

Trent entered play Wednesday trailing first-round leader Ender by one stroke, but played a bogey-free round Wednesday, including an eagle on the par-5 18th hole.

Arbor View’s Sam Dickey shot the day’s second-best round with a 68.

The Panthers finished with a team total of 11-under 565. Coronado was second at 577, followed by Bishop Gorman (592), Arbor View (610) and Desert Oasis (642) in the 10-team field.

Skyhawks win Northeast League meet

At Las Vegas National, Thomas Kirchner shot 7-over 78, and teammate Matthew McClure added a 79 to help Silverado to victory in a Northeast League match.

Silverado had a team score of 453, five strokes better than Liberty. Valley was third at 596.

Liberty’s Jayrick Cadelina was the medalist with a 77.
