VOLLEYBALL: Lance, Grizzlies rally from two-set deficit to top Cheyenne

Troy Lance had 12 kills and 13 assists to help Spring Valley’s boys volleyball team rally for a 19-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-9 victory over visiting Cheyenne on Monday.

Steven Paukovic added 10 kills, 12 assists and three aces, and Kobie Robins had two kills and four digs for the Grizzlies.

Tyler Buchanan paced the Desert Shields with 15 kills and six aces, and teammate Elijah Cocker served seven aces.

Green Valley 3, Palo Verde 1 — At Green Valley, James Reed had 18 kills and 16 digs to help the fifth-ranked Gators upset the top-ranked Panthers, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.

Dustin Elliott had 17 kills and three aces, and Zach Hewitt added 52 assists for Green Valley.

Scott Solan had 17 kills, and teammate Haden Van Orden dished out 42 assists for Palo Verde, which got 19 digs from Jacob Scheer.

Durango 3, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Durango, Michael Diggins had 17 kills, 15 digs and three blocks to lead the Trailblazers to a 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17 victory over the Gaels.

Andre Shabazz added 39 assists, 11 digs, two kills and two blocks for Durango, and teammate Jaylen Clark had 12 kills, 10 digs and two blocks.

Jason Landman had five kills and four blocks for the Trailblazers, who got 17 digs and five aces from Marc Viernes.

Trevor Papcock led Gorman with 38 assists. Charles Pollnow added 14 kills for the Gaels, and teammate Will Hafen had nine kills.

Shadow Ridge 3, Legacy 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Cutler Leavitt had 12 kills and 12 digs to help the Mustangs to a 25-8, 25-16, 26-24 sweep of the Longhorns.

Cody Heathcock had seven kills and three blocks, and C.J. McInnis added 25 assists, six aces, five digs and three blocks for Shadow Ridge.

Omari Wheeler paced Legacy with nine kills and nine digs, and teammate Caleb Franklin had three kills, five digs and two blocks.

Las Vegas 3, Silverado 0 — At Silverado, Luis Wong had 39 assists, and Brandon Kampshoff put down 15 kills to lead the Wildcats past the Skyhawks 25-13, 25-15, 25-23.

Kyle Monton added 12 digs, and Foster Palo notched nine kills for Las Vegas.

Cody Steckel led Silverado with 13 assists.

Bonanza 3, Valley 0 At Bonanza, Bronson Duckworth had 10 kills and eight digs to lead the Bengals to a 26-24, 25-20, 25-23 victory over the Vikings.

Robby Adair added eight kills and 11 digs for Bonanza, and teammate Luis Raygoza had 26 assists and 14 digs.

Paolo Luchs had four kills, three digs and two blocks for the Bengals.

Mojave 3, Clark 0 — At Mojave, Clayton Fontano had 17 kills and nine digs to help the Rattlers to a 25-9, 25-11, 25-11 sweep of the Chargers.

Alex Carvalho had 10 kills and 10 digs, and Antonyo Wright added 12 kills for Mojave. Jason Zambrano had 30 assists, and Anthony Reed added 16 digs for the Rattlers.

Sierra Vista 3, Western 0 — At Western, Chris McCoy had eight kills, three aces, two digs and two blocks to lead the Mountain Lions over the Warriors, 25-13, 25-15, 25-13.

Chris Barajas added five aces and four digs for Sierra Vista.

Salesi Savou led Western with three kills and five blocks, and teammate Gerardo Cardenas recorded eight assists and three blocks. Christian Macias had eight digs for the Warriors.

Liberty 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, the Patriots beat the Pioneers, 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.
