BASEBALL: Blaylock blasts two homers to send Mustangs by Palo Verde

Isaiah Blaylock blasted a pair of home runs and drove in six runs Tuesday to lead Shadow Ridge’s baseball team to a 7-4 home win over Palo Verde.
Blaylock, who was 2-for-2, hit a three-run homer in the first to give the Mustangs a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. He added another three-run homer as part of a four-run third inning that made it 7-0.
Cobi Fiechtner’s sacrifice fly in the seventh pulled Palo Verde within three, but Koby Millner was able to get a strikeout and a groundout to strand a runner at second and earn the save.
Justin Lee went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI for Shadow Ridge, and teammate Kyle Gaura was 2-for-3.
Mitchell Rathbun and Wesley Cosby each went 2-for-3 for Palo Verde.
Sierra Vista 3, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Pahrump, Blake Kaplan’s sacrifice fly plated DaVion Hollis with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Mountain Lions nipped the Trojans.
Kaplan struck out eight over five innings, and Hunter Wood pitched two scoreless innings of relief to get the win for Sierra Vista
Cooper Kitrel was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Hollis went 2-for-3 for the Mountain Lions.
Aaron Fuentes finished 2-for-4 with an RBI triple and a run for Pahrump.
Clark 4, Mojave 3 — At Clark, Thomas Campbell scored the game-winning run from third base on a wild pitch with one out in the bottom of the seventh as the Chargers nipped the Rattlers.
Campbell led off the inning with a walk.
Matthew Thompson was 2-for-3 with a double, and Matthias Blodgett hit a triple for Clark.
Scott Wilson went 3-for-4 for Mojave.
Cheyenne 6, Western 3 — At Western, the Desert Shields scored three runs in the top of the seventh to earn the win over the Warriors.
Titus Quintanilla’s RBI double broke a 3-3 tie, and Cheyenne added runs on an RBI double by Antonio Chavez and an RBI single by Anthony McConnico.
Western loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the inning on two errors and a hit batter. But Angelo Hallenback struck out the side to end the game.
Quintanilla was 2-for-4 and got the win with three shutout innings of relief. Chavez and Chris Rose also went 2-for-4 for the Desert Shields.
Durango 6, Bonanza 3 — At Bonanza, Duke Pahukoa belted a two-run home run in the first inning to give the Trailblazers a lead they didn’t relinquish as they defeated the Bengals.
Charles Smith was 3-for-4 with two runs for Durango, which used a three-run sixth inning to take a 6-1 lead. Adam Niederman went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI, and Josh Barry supplied an RBI double for the Trailblazers.
Micah Higa was 2-for-4, and Levi Klump tripled to lead Bonanza, which plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Cimarron-Memorial 8, Legacy 3 — At Legacy, Jaret Godman went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs and three RBIs to lead the Spartans over the Longhorns.
Trevor Doyle was 4-for-4 with two doubles and two runs for Cimarron, which scored five runs in the sixth inning to take 6-3 lead.
Derek Decolati was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run, Diego Cardoso went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Jacob Godman was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for the Spartans.
Alex Tadd went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Legacy.
Centennial 11, Arbor View 2 — At Arbor View, winning pitcher Hayden Rosenkrantz went 4-for-5 with two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs over the Aggies.
Rosenkrantz threw a four-hitter, striking out eight and walking two.
Kyle Horton went 4-for-5 with a double and a run, and Garrett Holden was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Centennial, which sent 11 men to the plate in a six-run sixth inning.
Arbor View’s Nick Quintana was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first.
Bishop Gorman 11, Desert Oasis 1 — At Gorman, Beau Capanna had four hits and three RBIs to lead the Gaels to a six-inning win over the Diamondbacks.
Marques Paige added three hits and two RBIs, and teammate Myles Denson had two hits and three RBIs for Gorman, which scored six runs in second to take control.
Matt Mitchell allowed one run over five innings with six strikeouts to get the win.
Lake Mead 17, Calvary Chapel 7 — At Heritage Park, Zack Brocker was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and the Eagles scored 11 runs in their final two at-bats to earn the five-inning win over the Lions.
Mitchell Dolinar had a double and three RBIs, and Brock Ramsay scored four runs and had two RBIs for Lake Mead, which was helped by 11 walks and five Calvary Chapel errors.
Christian O’Kelley and Isaiah Jimmerson each had a double and a single for the Lions.
