Gorman’s Cunningham wins women’s high jump at U.S. indoor championships

Bishop Gorman senior Vashti Cunningham won the women’s high jump at the USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Portland, Oregon.
Cunningham cleared 6 feet, 6¼ inches to win the event. She set a U.S. junior indoor record in the high jump in February with a mark of 6-4¾.
Cunningham set the national high school outdoor record last summer, clearing 6-5¼ in the Pan-American Junior Championships.
Elizabeth Patterson cleared 6-4 Saturday to finish second.
Cunningham won the USATF Outdoor Track and Field Championships in June with a mark of 6-0¼.
