BOYS BASKETBALL: Kothe’s 3-pointer gives Faith Lutheran win over Cheyenne

Elijah Kothe hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining to lift Faith Lutheran's boys basketball team to a 62-61 home win over Cheyenne on Friday.

Cheyenne missed a 3-pointer as time expired.

Zach Friel added 13 points and seven rebounds, and Blake Bell had 13 points and four assists for the Crusaders. Kothe finished with 12 points.

Alahjan Banks and William Moore each scored 13 points to lead the Desert Shields, who got 10 points from Dewayne Alexander.

Spring Valley 56, Mojave 54 — At Spring Valley, Ryan Frazier scored 21 points as the Grizzlies edged the Rattlers.

Jospeh Johnson had 11 points, and teammate Eric Hansen scored 10 for Spring Valley.

Chrishwan Thomas led Mojave with 20 points. Richard Edwards added 12 points for the Rattlers.

Clark 79, Sierra Vista 58 — At Clark, Antwon Jackson led three double-figure scorers with 20 points as the Chargers beat the Mountain Lions.

Keyshaun Webb had 18 points, and James Bridges scored 14 for Clark, which led 41-22 at halftime.

Kevin Tobie led Sierra Vista with 17 points. Maui SeraJosef added 10 points for the Mountain Lions.

Bishop Gorman 95, Palo Verde 70 — At Bishop Gorman, Zach Collins had 22 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Gaels past the Panthers.

Collins also had four assists, three steals and six blocked shots.

Christian Popoola scored 18 points, Travis Rice had 17 points, and Charles O'Bannon added 13 points for the Gaels, who led 49-32 at the half.

Taylor Miller scored 20 points to lead Palo Verde.

Western 60, Pahrump Valley 41 — At Pahrump, Kwan Carter scored 20 points to lead the Warriors to the win over the Trojans.

Anthony Dodson added 14 points, and Nakia Harris-Neal scored 10 for Western, which outscored Pahrump 21-5 in the second quarter to take a 39-15 halftime lead.

Danny Foss led the Trojans with 11 points, and teammate Nolan Toomer scored 10.

Shadow Ridge 78, Legacy 62 — At Legacy, Jerell Springer scored 13 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Mustangs over the Longhorns.

Nick Blake hit four 3-pointers and scored 18 points for Shadow Ridge, which hit five third-quarter 3-pointers to help stretch the lead to 49-38.

Isaiah Williams had 12 points, and Kevin Branch and James Fuller each scored 10 for the Mustangs, who finished with eight 3-pointers.

Timothy Jeffries led Legacy with 21 points. Kameron Delgadillo added 13 points, and teammate Anthone Searcy scored 10.

Virgin Valley 61, Chaparral 48 — At Mesquite, Marcus Sanders had 16 points and nine rebounds to lift the Bulldogs over the Cowboys.

Hogan Fowles added 14 points, and Andrew Memmott scored 11 for Virgin Valley, which led 30-27 at halftime.

Samuel Porras had 13 points, and Marc Silas notched 10 points for Chaparral.

Del Sol 56, Moapa Valley 36 — At Moapa Valley, Myles Dunn had 10 points as the Dragons routed the Pirates.

Derek Cope and Jay Mortensen each scored 10 points for Moapa Valley.

Sunrise Mountain 48, Tech 40 — At Tech, Tyri White and Steven Adeyemi each scored nine points to lead the Miners past the Roadrunners.

Sunrise Mountain led 26-12 at the half.

Paul Galang led Tech with 10 points.

Desert Hills (Utah) 59, Arbor View 49 — At Arbor View, Marcus McKone scored 22 points to lead the Thunder past the Aggies.

Logan Hokanson added 13 points for the Thunder, who led 30-22 at the half.

Jesse Vogel scored 22 points to lead Arbor View.

The Meadows 53, Agassi Prep 50 — At Agassi Prep, Max Hisatake had 18 points as the Mustangs used a 13-7 fourth quarter to rally by the Stars.

Jake Epstein added 17 points, and Ethan Fridman scored 12 for The Meadows, which trailed 43-40 after three quarters.

Akeemis Williams led Agassi Prep with 18 points, and teammate Stephan LauShaul had nine points.

Calvary Chapel 77, Lake Mead 58 — At Lake Mead, Quentin Hank scored 38 points to lead the Lions past the Eagles.

Carlton Sims added 11 points for the Lions, who scored 69 points over the final three quarters.

Shay Rutledge scored 28 points to lead the Eagles.

Needles 58, Lincoln County 34 — At Needles, Calif., Trenton Poe-Evans had 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Mustangs defeated the Lynx.

Trey Tsosie added seven points and nine rebounds for Needles, which outscored Lincoln County 18-5 in the second quarter to pull away.

Samuel Anderson had 19 points to lead the Lynx.

Pahranagat Valley 72, Sandy Valley 35 — At Alamo, Culen Highbe led a balanced attack with 14 points as the Panthers beat the Sidewinders.

Shawn Wadsworth added 11 points, and Cody Williams scored 10 for Pahranagat Valley, which led 36-14 at the half.

Wyatt Robinson had 13 points for Sandy Valley.
