GIRLS BASKETBALL: Diamondbacks rally to top Panthers

Mikala Kirby and Ashlynn Sharp each scored 14 points Friday as Desert Oasis' girls basketball team erased a seven-point halftime deficit and rallied for a 64-59 win over visiting Palo Verde.

KePatriot Simpson had 12 points, Taryn Lampkin added 10 points and Ahmaya Smith notched nine points and 11 rebounds for Desert Oasis, which used a 17-6 third-quarter run to take a 45-41 lead heading into the fourth.

Paulina Silcox finished with 20 points, and Brooklyn Cruz added 18 points for Palo Verde.

Shadow Ridge 50, Silverado 43 — At Silverado, Lauryn Calo had 14 points, and Alexa Martins scored 11 to lead the Mustangs by the Skyhawks.

Tamara Gisendaner added nine points for Shadow Ridge, which led 21-20 at halftime and 35-30 after three quarters.

Deja Siaki had 14 points, and Japrea Edwards scored 12 for Silverado.

Las Vegas 49, Cimarron-Memorial 42 — At Las Vegas, Bianca Matlock and Teconna Dyer each scored 12 points to lift the Wildcats over the Spartans.

Adrina Collins added 11 points for Las Vegas, which trailed 26-24 at halftime but outscored Cimarron 11-6 in the third quarter.

Armonnie Byrd had 14 rebounds, and Briteny Buckley pulled down 10 boards for the Wildcats.

Niara Smith had 20 points, and Ashli Tyus scored 10 to lead Cimarron.

Centennial 75, Legacy 27 — At Centennial, Pam Wilmore scored 13 points to lead a balanced attack as the Bulldogs rolled past the Longhorns.

Bailey Thomas had nine points, and teammates Megan Jefferson, Eboni Walker and Jayden Eggleston each added eight points for Centennial.

C'Aree Stevenson paced Legacy with 10 points.

Rancho 34, Bonanza 21 — At Rancho, Tatianna Lee had 14 points, four assists and four steals to lead the Rams over the Bengals.

Maureen Macato added 10 points and four steals for Rancho, which used a 15-3 second-quarter run to take control.

Jazzmon Ferguson led Bonanza with six points.

Arbor View 57, Valley 26 — Reina Martin scored 14 points to power the Aggies by the Vikings.

Kera Farmer and Carol Rivera-Cervantes each added seven points for Arbor View, which led 23-9 at halftime.

Dajaah Lightfoot and Hannah Gebreyesus scored nine points apiece for Valley.

Foothill 73, Durango 40 — At Foothill, Trinity Betoney had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists to help the Falcons top the Trailblazers.

Rae Burrell added 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, and teammate Kyle Vint had 12 points and eight rebounds for Foothill.

The Falcons outscored Durango 26-8 in the second half.

Brittany Romo led the Trailblazers with 12 points.

Mojave 42, Pahrump Valley 25 — At Pahrump, Kiara Lemon had 20 points to lead the Rattlers over the Trojans.

Savannah Blanchard-Davis added 12 points for Mojave, which led 18-7 after the first quarter.

Lauren Ashford paced Pahrump with eight points.

Chaparral 58, Boulder City 44 — At Boulder City, Marcia Hawkins led all scorers with 25 points as the Cowboys downed the Eagles.

Alexis Vanstory added 15 points for Chaparral, which led 45-31 after three quarters.

Megan Morton had 19 points for Boulder City.

Sunrise Mountain 40, Del Sol 24 — At Del Sol, Tayaa Pratt led a balanced attack with nine points as the Miners topped the Dragons.

Ayla Diaz had seven points for Sunrise Mountain, which also got six points apiece from Nina Carpenter, Tre'Licia Quinn and KaVianna Kitch.

Jazland Campbell and Ana Ozuna each scored eight points to lead Del Sol.

Spring Valley 64, Western 34 — At Western, Essence Booker had 25 points, and teammate Kayla Harris scored 19 to power the Grizzlies by the Warriors.

Alana Walker chipped in eight points for Spring Valley, which raced out to a 39-18 halftime lead.

Destiny Gonzalez led Western with 18 points.

Cheyenne 61, Clark 38 — At Cheyenne, Koreyl Godbolt led four double-figure scorers with 13 points as the Desert Shields used a strong second half to down the Chargers.

Dominique Hudson and Alexcia Weatherly each added 11 points, and Ejanae Coopwood scored 10 for the Desert Shields, who got 12 rebounds from Da'Vione Lomax.

Cheyenne outscored the Chargers 33-13 in the second half.

Marieka Dent scored 11 points to lead the Chargers.

Faith Lutheran 72, Sierra Vista 26 — At Faith Lutheran, Sam Caruth poured in 21 points, including four 3-pointers, as the Crusaders routed the Mountain Lions.

Bobbi Tharaldson added 14 points, and Bryanna Neagle scored 12 for Faith Lutheran, which led 22-2 after one quarter.

Iymoni Burrell paced Sierra Vista with 10 points.

Desert Pines 45, Virgin Valley 31 — At Desert Pines, See'Airrah Evans-Collins had 13 points, 15 rebounds and nine steals as the Jaguars rolled past the Bulldogs.

Chrystian Myles scored a game-high 15 points and had four steals for Desert Pines, which trailed 16-13 at halftime before outscoring Virgin Valley 21-9 in the third quarter.

Briana Todd led Virgin Valley with 12 points.

Moapa Valley 45, Tech 21 — At Tech, Summer Evans scored 12 points as the Pirates cruised by the Roadrunners.

Lainey Cornwall and Kinlee Marshall each added six points for Moapa Valley, which led 27-4 at halftime.

Tayler Muwwakkil led Tech with 10 points.

The Meadows 55, Lake Mead 45 — At Lake Mead, Tahsin Najmi scored 16 points to help the Mustangs rally by the Eagles.

Rachel Siegel had 12 points, and Kaiya Massey scored 10 for The Meadows, which trailed 24-21 at halftime but outscored Lake Mead 17-6 in the third quarter.

Marybeth Bruninga led Lake Mead with 11 points.

Needles 48, Calvary Chapel 19 — At Calvary Chapel, the Mustangs held the Lions scoreless in the first quarter en route to the win.

Jayne Antone, Valentina Limon, Preslee Murch and Paige Murch each had seven points for Needles, which led 26-6 at halftime.

Malia Lee led Calvary Chapel with seven points.

Lincoln County 58, Agassi Prep 47 — At Agassi Prep, Savannah Harr had 19 points, four rebounds and three assists to lead the Lynx by the Stars.

Hannah Hafen added 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists for Lincoln County, which also got nine points, four assists and two rebounds from Kailey Kelley.

Destiny Rover led Agassi Prep with 17 points.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
