BOYS BASKETBALL: DeRouen, Patriots rally late to top Wolves

Kahlil DeRouen scored all five of his points in the final 30 seconds to lift Liberty's boys basketball team to a 53-52 home victory over Basic on Tuesday.

DeRouen got a steal and nailed a 3-pointer from the corner to give the Patriots a 51-49 lead with 30 seconds to play. He added a layup with 10 seconds left to make it 53-49.

Basic hit a 3-pointer to pull within one, but Liberty didn't need to inbound as the clock ran out.

Dylan Robinson had 18 points to lead the Patriots. Kyle Thaxton and Cameron Burist each added 12 points for Liberty.

Matthew Esplin led the Wolves with 16 points, and teammate Kerry Keyes scored 12.

Desert Pines 58, Chaparral 52 — At Chaparral, Trevon Abdullah had 23 points as the Jaguars downed the Cowboys.

Capri Uzan scored 15 points for Desert Pines, which outscored Chaparral 33-27 over the middle quarters.

Marc Silas had 24 points to lead Chaparral, which got 11 points from Samuel Porras.

Sunrise Mountain 52, Moapa Valley 48 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Miners made 7 of 11 free throws in overtime to defeat the Pirates.

Trevor White scored 14 points, and Tyri White added 12 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Jay Mortensen scored 16 points to lead Moapa Valley.

Palo Verde 85, Cimarron-Memorial 81 — At Palo Verde, Taylor Miller scored 32 points as the Panthers outlasted the Spartans.

James Camp added 11 points, and Cole Hendershot scored 10 for Palo Verde.

Jeremiah Broussard led four Cimarron players in double figures with 28 points. Ja'Don Brown had 16 points, Keiron Hatchett scored 13 and KeAnte Huddleston added 12 points for the Spartans.

Clark 56, Faith Lutheran 48 — At Clark, Antwon Jackson scored 16 points, and Darius Jackson had 15 to lead the Chargers over the Crusaders.

Keyshaun Webb added 12 points for Clark, which outscored Faith Lutheran 24-17 in the fourth quarter.

Luke Bergen scored 12 points, and teammate Blake Bell had 10 to lead the Crusaders.

Cheyenne 69, Sierra Vista 58 — At Sierra Vista, Alahjan Banks scored 18 points as the Desert Shields defeated the Mountain Lions.

William Moore scored 15 points, and William Federson had 10 for Cheyenne, which used an 18-8 third-quarter spurt to pull away.

Maka Ellis scored 24 points to lead Sierra Vista.

Bishop Gorman 82, Shadow Ridge 44 — At Shadow Ridge, Charles O'Bannon had 21 points as the Gaels rolled past the Mustangs.

Gorman's Zach Collins added 13 points, 18 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocked shots. Christian Popoola also scored 13 for the Gaels, who led 33-23 at the half.

Jerell Springer paced Shadow Ridge with 17 points, and teammate James Fuller scored 10.

Durango 71, Legacy 30 — At Durango, Demetrius Valdez and Chase Ruiz each supplied 15 points and five assists as the Trailblazers rolled past the Longhorns.

Michael Diggins had 12 points, and Jason Landman grabbed 10 rebounds for Durango, which led 41-19 at halftime.

Joseph Carter paced Legacy with 10 points.

Mojave 67, Western 39 — At Mojave, Chrishawn Thomas scored 22 points to power the Rattlers past the Warriors.

Tyrique Watson scored 16 points, and teammate J.D. McCormick added 13 points for Mojave, which made nine 3-pointers.

Western's Kwan Carter scored 14 points, and Nakia Harris-Neal added 10 points for the Warriors.

Spring Valley 56, Pahrump Valley 35 — At Spring Valley, Sal Everett scored 11 points to lead the Grizzlies win over the Trojans.

Eric Hansen and Demetrius McWhorter each supplied eight points for Spring Valley, which led 32-17 at halftime.

Pahrump Valley's Bryce Odegard had 11 points, and Danny Foss scored 10 for the Trojans.

Virgin Valley 53, Boulder City 38 — At Boulder City, Zach Barnum scored 18 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Eagles.

Hogan Fowles and Andrew Memmott each added nine points for Virgin Valley.

Carson Balistere led Boulder City with 13 points.

Del Sol 79, Tech 45 — At Tech, Jonathan Spearman led a balanced attack with 14 points as the Dragons routed the Roadrunners.

Byron Rowson scored 13 points, and Bo Beagle added 11 points for Del Sol, which led 38-21 at halftime.

Jurelle Orbino led Tech with 12 points, and teammate Paul Galang added 10 points.

Mountain View 63, Calvary Chapel 58 — At Calvary Chapel, Tevin Gray had 29 points to lead the Saints past the Lions.

Terrence Brooks added 11 points for Mountain View.

Calvary Chapel's Quentin Hank had 25 points, and D.J. Golden scored 10 for the Lions.

Lincoln County 62, White Pine 57 — At Panaca, Kobe Walker made six 3-pointers and went 5-for-5 from the free-throw line to finish with a game-high 23 points as the Lynx outlasted the Bobcats.

Elijah Harr added 18 points, and Kevin Mathews scored 10 for Lincoln County, which trailed 44-41 after three quarters.

Sam Stewart led White Pine with 17 points. Dekoda Barela had 12 points, and Jonathan Gust scored 10 for White Pine.

Agassi Prep 72, Lake Mead 36 — At Agassi Prep, Akeemis Williams made five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points as the Stars routed the Eagles.

Daniel Plummer added 10 points, and Aiden Olivas had nine points for Agassi Prep, which led 36-13 at halftime.

Shay Rutledge led Lake Mead with 10 points.

Needles 73, Laughlin 29 — At Needles, Calif., Frankie Garcia scored 18 points to help the Mustangs rout the Cougars.

Michael Chavez scored 14 points, and teammate Trey Tsosie contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds for Needles. Trenton Poe-Evans had nine points and 11 rebounds for the Mustangs.

Tyler Furr scored 10 points to lead Laughlin.

Word of Life 67, Adelson School 60 — At Adelson School, Elijah Hoye scored 19 points to help the Eagles hold off the Lions.

Trent McCall had 16 points, and Paul Kelker added 11 for Word of Life, which sprinted to a 24-11 lead after one quarter.

Jake Buchman led Adelson School with 20 points, and teammate Jacob Elharrar scored 15.
