WRESTLING: Spartans slip past Bulldogs

Cimarron-Memorial won five matches by pin Tuesday to edge visiting Centennial 39-33 in a Northwest League wrestling dual meet.

Bryan Cook recorded a key pin at 285 pounds to help the Spartans clinch the win.

Daniel Rodriguez (120), Travis Montgomery (138), Stanton Peay (145) and Nathaniel Garcia (195) also won by fall for Cimarron.

Aviyen Gonzales (126), Brian Clark (182) and Dante Rios (220) recorded pins for Centennial.

Desert Pines 54, Sunrise Mountain 24 — At Desert Pines, the Jaguars used nine forfeits to down the Miners.

Angel Uresti (132), Mathew Perry (160), Alex Herrera (170) and Jayce Metcalfe (195) each won by fall for Sunrise Mountain.

Liberty 52, Canyon Springs 30 — At Canyon Springs, Dylan Pope pinned his opponent in 33 seconds at 132 pounds to lead the Patriots by the Pioneers.

Adam Knopow (113), Julian Watkins (120), Kyle Dudder (126), James Morimoto (138), Jonathan Halk (145) and Aiden Hogue (285) also won by fall for Liberty.

Canyon Springs' Jose Yanez (152), Leo Castaneda (160), Lord Oroke (195) and Cristian Abrica (220) each pinned their opponent.

Bishop Gorman 63, Legacy 18 — At Legacy, Michael DeBonis won by fall in 56 seconds at 145 pounds to help the Gaels defeat the Longhorns.
