FLAG FOOTBALL: Mountain Lions stun Grizzlies with last-minute TD

Brandee Ford caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Kalei Watkins in the final minute Friday to lift Sierra Vista's flag football team to a 37-33 road win over Spring Valley in a Division I-A Sunset League game.

Watkins passed for 230 yards and four touchdowns. Jamie Kalaau-Sunia caught five passes for 150 yards and a TD, and Courtney O'Neal rushed for 137 yards and two scores for Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley's Michaela Hood completed 12 of 19 passes for 216 yards and three TDs. She also rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Jozee DeCunzo ran for 117 yards and a touchdown on eight carries and also caught a TD pass for the Grizzlies, while teammate Doris Gutierrez-Hoyos had six catches for 105 yards and two scores.

Desert Pines 25, Chaparral 19 — At Desert Pines, Tanaiya Hinton rushed 16 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns and added an 18-yard TD reception to lead the Jaguars by the Cowboys in overtime.

Reina Trujillo, who finished with 102 yards on 14 carries, scored on a 1-yard TD run in overtime for Desert Pines, which stopped Chaparral on the first possession after regulation.

The Jaguars trailed 7-6 at halftime.

Cheyenne 32, Mojave 14 — At Cheyenne, Angela Hammond rushed for 257 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Desert Shields by the Rattlers.

Liliana Cadacio threw a 38-yard TD pass to Girly Tambeagbor and a 15-yard scoring pass to Andrea Hammond for Cheyenne.

Del Sol 27, Moapa Valley 12 — At Overton, Kalijah Williams had 13 carries for 128 yards and a TD to lead the Dragons by the Pirates.

Lauren Cranor was 15-for-24 for 218 yards and a TD, and Estefany Gonzalez-Vargas had five catches for 100 yards for Del Sol, which led 20-0 at halftime.

Shadow Ridge 25, Durango 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Maelle Vilon rushed for two touchdowns and caught a TD pass to help the Mustangs top the Trailblazers.

Danika Shupe also had a TD run for Shadow Ridge.

Victoria Tolle threw for 156 yards and a touchdown for the Mustangs.

Legacy 19, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Akia Williams had 14 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown and four receptions for 58 yards and a score as the Longhorns blanked the Patriots.

Nicole White was 9-for-22 for 93 yards and a TD, and Traonna Hamblett had 11 rushes for 82 yards and a score for Legacy.

Boulder City 35, Tech 6 — At Tech, the Eagles cruised by the Roadrunners.

Avery Rayos returned an interception for a touchdown for Tech.

Arbor View 26, Palo Verde 19 — At Palo Verde, the Aggies rallied from a 12-0 halftime deficit to down the Panthers in double overtime.

Clark 37, Western 0 — At Western, Jasmine Brooks rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries as the Chargers routed the Warriors.

Keyani Irving added two TD runs for Clark. Messeret Ibrahim threw a 39-yard TD pass to Erika Carmona, and Destinie McGhee added an interception return for a touchdown.

Virgin Valley 29, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Bulldogs shut out the Miners.
