GIRLS BASKETBALL: Calo, Mustangs hang on to edge Durango

Lauryn Calo led a balanced attack with nine points Wednesday as Shadow Ridge's girls basketball team held on to defeat host Durango, 42-37.

Alexa Martins added eight points for the Mustangs, who led 36-13 after three quarters.

Brittany Romo led the Trailblazers with 10 points.

Palo Verde 66, Legacy 55 — At Legacy, Paulina Silcox and Kaylee Puckett each scored 17 points to help the Panthers top the Longhorns.

Brooklyn Cruz added 13 points for Palo Verde, which led 30-21 at halftime.

TaEha Pankey had 17 points, and C'Aree Stevenson added 11 points for Legacy.

Western 45, Clark 31 — At Western, Destiny Gonzalez scored 12 of her 25 points during a 16-4 third-quarter run to help the Warriors rally past the Chargers.

Capricia Pierce supplied 10 points for Western, which trailed 21-16 at halftime.

Marieka Dent scored 12 points for Clark.

Sierra Vista 48, Pahrump Valley 33 — At Pahrump, Danielle Morrow had 13 points to help the Mountain Lions top the Trojans.

Shania Harper added 12 points for Sierra Vista, which trailed 7-6 after one quarter.

Sabin Chaidez led Pahrump with nine points.

Faith Lutheran 53, Mojave 34 — At Mojave, Sam Caruth poured in 25 points, including six 3-pointers, to help power the Crusaders by the Rattlers.

Madison Bocobo added 12 points for Faith Lutheran, which used a 15-3 fourth-quarter run to pull away.

Savannah Blanchard-Davis led Mojave with 17 points.

Boulder City 59, Sunrise Mountain 30 — At Boulder City, Megan Morton scored 21 of her 28 points in the second half and had eight rebounds and four assists as the Eagles pulled away from the Miners.

Morton scored 14 points during a 22-2 third-quarter run as Boulder City increased an 18-17 halftime lead to 40-19.

Lauren Mullins had 11 points, and Jerra Hinson added nine points and 10 rebounds for Boulder City.

Shayne Siegel and KaVianna Kitch each had 10 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Chaparral 51, Del Sol 13 — At Del Sol, Alexis Vanstory scored 14 points to lead the Cowboys by the Dragons.

Marcia Hawkins added 13 points for Chaparral, which led 23-8 at the half.

Ana Ozuna led Del Sol with six points.

Desert Pines 66, Tech 25 — At Desert Pines, Jordan Bailey scored 17 points, and Chrystian Myles added 12 points as the Jaguars routed the Roadrunners.

See'Airrah Evans-Collins had 10 points and 17 rebounds for Desert Pines, which led 41-12 at halftime and held Tech scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Lidia Woosen had seven points for Tech.

Spring Valley 55, Cheyenne 14 — At Cheyenne, Essence Booker scored 19 points as the Grizzlies routed the Desert Shields.

Kayla Harris added 14 points for Spring Valley, which bolted to a 45-8 halftime lead.
