LauShaul’s four TDs help Stars top Saints

Stephan LauShaul scored four touchdowns, including three on the ground, to lead Agassi Prep's football team to a 36-8 win over host Mountain View in a Division III Southern League matchup on Saturday.

LauShaul ran for 188 yards on 12 carries and added three receptions for 59 yards and a TD for the Stars (4-1, 3-1 Southern), who scored 36 unanswered points to spoil the Saints' homecoming game.

"He just continues to prove his worth to our team," Agassi Prep coach Isaac Watts said. "He's been consistent with us since he's been here. He's constantly been a leader for us, and I'm going to miss him when he's gone."

Mountain View (1-5, 1-3 Southern) grabbed momentum early, when Tyrell Brooks connected with brother Terrence Brooks on an 80-yard touchdown strike with 6 minutes, 15 seconds left in the first quarter.

Terrence Brooks, who finished with six catches for 131 yards, took a quick screen pass on the play and raced down the right sideline for the score. Adam Stacey's 2-point catch put the Saints up 8-0.

But the team became one-dimensional afterwards, rushing for a total of 16 yards on 25 attempts. Quarterback Tyrell Brooks was 18 of 39 passing for 235 yards and three interceptions.

"It was a good game on defense," Watts said. "We had a couple of mishaps and weren't following our keys, but it was solid. We gave up one touchdown in the first quarter and nothing else after that."

LauShaul answered Mountain View's quick score with rushing touchdowns of 36 and 2 yards in the first quarter to give Agassi Prep a 16-8 lead.

He added an 88-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and a 47-yard TD reception in the third quarter for the Stars, who led 30-8 at halftime.

Kameron Burrell completed 8 of 10 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns, including a 47-yard TD strike to Kezaun Cooper.

Mountain View's Bernard Williams had seven catches for 75 yards and 37 rushing yards.
