WRESTLING: Mustangs slip past Bulldogs

Shadow Ridge recorded six pins Thursday and edged visiting Centennial, 39-33.

Javier Zuniga (106 pounds), Alika Villatora (126), Jamison Rand (145), Kevin Henry (195) and Tyler Carter (285) each had a first-period pin for the Mustangs. Brendt Burleson (138) also won by fall for Shadow Ridge.

Ryan Pierce (113), Tucker Edwards (152) and Joseph Molinaro (182) won by fall for Centennial.

Shadow Ridge 57, Liberty 6 — At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs won four matches by forfeit en route to the easy win over the Patriots.

Francisco Martinez (113) and Grant Luna (132) each won by major decision for Shadow Ridge.

Liberty's lone win came by forfeit.

Shadow Ridge 42, Foothill 24 — At Shadow Ridge, Francisco Martinez (113) had a first-period pin to lead the Mustangs over the Falcons.

Villatora (126) and Marc Williams (152) also won by fall for Shadow Ridge.

Rocky Lapham (182) won by pin for Foothill.

Centennial 49, Liberty 24 — At Shadow Ridge, Tucker Edwards (152) and Tristin Iwanski (160) each had a first-period pin, and the Bulldogs won four matches by forfeit to top the Patriots.

Pierce (113) also won by pin for Centennial.

Travis Colisao (106), Kyle Dudder (126) and Jonathan Halk (138) had pins for Liberty.

Centennial 51, Foothill 24 — At Shadow Ridge, Pierce (113) pinned his opponent in just 34 seconds to lead the Bulldogs over the Falcons.

Brogan Denton (152), Iwanski (160), Richard Kilgore (170), Joseph Molinaro (182), Dante Rios (220) and Arath Rangel (285) also won by pin for Centennial.

Estrella Maestas (106), Kohl Velado (126) and Wyatt English (138) had pins for Foothill.

Foothill 39, Liberty 25 — At Shadow Ridge, Nicholas Bottoms (145) had a first-period pin to lead the Falcons over the Patriots.

Isaac Oliva (152) also won by fall for Foothill.

Colisao (106), Adam Knopow (113) and Jeremy Cedillo (170) had pins for Liberty.
