2015 All-State Girls Cross Country Team

First Team

Caitlin Amburgey, Damonte Ranch

The senior finished fourth in the Division I state meet in 20:21. She won both the Sierra League meet (20:04) and the Northern Region meet (20:06).

Hannah Covington, Bishop Manogue

The sophomore took seventh place in the Division I state meet in 20:31. The winner of two races in the regular season, she finished second in the Northern Region meet in 20:14.

Alexis Gourrier, Centennial

The sophomore won eight races during the season before finishing 19th in the Division I state meet in 20:53, helping the Bulldogs to their second straight state crown. She was 10th in the Sunset Region meet in 20:57.

Karina Haymore, Centennial

The junior won the Division I state meet, finishing the 3.1-mile race in 19:39 and helping the Bulldogs to their second straight state crown. She finished first or second in six meets during the season.

Kyra Hunsberger, Reno

The junior finished ninth in the Division I state meet in 20:34. She won the High Desert League meet before taking fifth in the Northern Region meet in 20:28.

Samantha King-Shaw, Reed

The junior finished third in the Division I state meet in 20:09. She also placed third in the Northern Region meet in a time of 20:22.

Elaina Marchegger, Sierra Lutheran

The junior won the Division III state meet in 20:12. She also won the Northern Region meet in 20:25.

Julia Mahlke, Spring Creek

The senior won the Division I-A state meet in 20:14. She won four races during the season and finished fourth in the Northern Region meet in 20:50.

Erin Moyer, Damonte Ranch

The junior finished eighth in the Division I state meet in 20:33. She was sixth in the Northern Region meet, finishing in 20:37.

Kayla Roberts, Centennial

The junior finished fifth in the Division I state meet in 20:21, helping the Bulldogs to their second straight state title. She was second in the Sunset Region meet in 20:16.

Megan Ruffo, Douglas

The sophomore finished sixth in the Division I state meet in 20:24. She placed fourth in the Northern Region meet in 20:25.

Emma Wahlenmaier, Palo Verde

The junior finished second in the Division I state meet in 19:52. She won five races during the season, including the Sunset Region meet in 20:01.

Sina Arnold, McQueen

The sophomore finished 10th in the Division I state meet in 20:36. She also was 10th in the Northern Region meet in 20:51.

Kacie Bell, Elko

The junior finished second in the Division I-A state meet in 20:35. She won the Northern Region meet in 20:26.

Myna Buckley, Foothill

The freshman finished second in three races during the season, including a runner-up showing in the Sunrise Region meet in 21:05.

Quinn Lehmkuhl, North Tahoe

The junior finished second in the DIvision III state meet in 20:19. She finished fourth in the Northern Region meet in 21:06.

Lauryn Massic, Spanish Springs

The senior was 15th in the Division I state meet, finishing in 20:43. She took seventh in the Northern Region meet in 20:43.

Halie McGannon, Centennial

The senior finished 13th in the Division I state meet in 20:42. She was the runnerup in the Northwest League meet in 19:44.

McKenzie Morgan, Centennial

The freshman finished 16th in the Division I state meet in 20:43. She was fifth in the Sunset Region meet in 20:35 and was a top-five finisher in seven races.

Sophia Sanchez, North Tahoe

The freshman finished third in the Division III state meet in 20:21. She finished in the top three in eight races, including a second-place finish in the Northern Region meet in 20:28.

Mikayla Shults, Reno

The sophomore placed in the top eight of five races during the season, including a fourth-place effort in the High Desert League meet in 20:38.

Mia Smith, Green Valley

The freshman won the Sunrise Region meet in 20:47. She placed 11th in the Division I state meet in 20:41 and finished in the top five of six races during the season.

Kate Vanderstelt, Palo Verde

The senior finished 14th in the Division I state meet in 20:42. She took ninth in the Sunset Region meet in 20:44 and was in the top five in seven races.

Sofia Young, Reno

The junior took 12th place in the Division I state meet in 20:41. She was a top-10 finisher in four races during the season.

Coach of the Year

Bud Beam, Green Valley

The first-year coach led the Gators to the Sunrise Region title as Green Valley placed three runners in the top six to post a team score of 35 points. The Gators finished fifth in the Division I state meet.
