TENNIS: Foothill girls defeat Rancho

Caitlyn Stevenson was 2-0 in singles, and the doubles teams of Breanna Derflinger and Katey Roquemore, and Morgan Hawkins and Alyssa Miele each went 2-0 on Friday to help host Foothill's girls tennis team down Rancho, 11-7.

Buvaneshwari Sathishkumar was 3-0 in singles for Rancho.

Green Valley 11, Eldorado 7 — At Eldorado, the Gators downed the Sundevils.

Cheyenne Delicate was 2-1 in singles, and the doubles teams of Heather Holman and Fernanda Mejia, and Jessica Samano and Carina Rivera each went 2-1 for Eldorado.

Spring Valley 12, Sierra Vista 6 — At Sierra Vista, the doubles team of Sydney Pravato and Shea Sanchez went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Grizzles by the Mountain Lions.

Shawna Kesgamol and Michelle Lu were 2-1 in doubles for Spring Valley.

Sierra Vista's Andrada Stancia was 3-0 in singles. Aubree Smidt and Dena Huynh were 2-1 in doubles for the Mountain Lions.

Bishop Gorman 14, Shadow Ridge 4 — At Shadow Ridge, Emma Kanne went 2-0 in singles to lead the Gaels past the Mustangs.

Amanda Adolfo and Emma Thompson went 2-0 in doubles for Gorman.

Clark 16, Mojave 2 — At Clark, three doubles teams each went 2-0 to lead the Chargers by the Rattlers.

The doubles units of Michelle Zhu and Elissa Gray, Esther Yi and Shalini Jawaweera, and Meredith Liu and Kristine Ly all went 2-0 for Clark.

Coronado 17, Basic 1 — At Coronado, Camille Solla was 2-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Megan Balmer and Alexandra Doherty went 2-0 to lead the Cougars by the Wolves.

Faith Lutheran 18, Cheyenne 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, Michelle Reiss and Jayden Mattson were 3-0 in doubles as the Crusaders blanked the Desert Shields.

Jessica Gettinger and Vittoria DiPalma went 2-0 in doubles, and Jade Lee was 2-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Palo Verde 18, Durango 0 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers blanked the Trailblazers.

The Meadows 12, Adelson School 0 — At The Meadows, the Mustangs won by forfeit.

Spring Valley 13, Sierra Vista 5 — At Sierra Vista, Christopher Zimmerman, Dominic Morimando and Dando Fitamo each went 3-0 in singles as the Grizzlies topped the Mountain Lions.

Coronado 13, Basic 5 — At Coronado, Kyle Harris was 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Logan Chen and Joshua Egbert went 3-0 as the Cougars topped the Wolves.

Foothill 15, Rancho 3 — At Foothill, Jacob Woodworth and Ben Gonzalez each went 2-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Jack Fredericksen and Jameson Morris went 2-0 as the Falcons downed the Rams.

Andrew Alves and Anjana Dissanayaka were 2-1 in doubles for Rancho.

The Meadows 15, Adelson School 3 — At The Meadows, the Mustangs swept the nine singles sets on their way to a win over the Lions.

Alex Lanzkowsky, Nathan Van der Post and Daniel Pereira all went 3-0 in singles for The Meadows.
