TENNIS: Moapa Valley girls edge Desert Pines

Hannah Rust and Lindsey Leavitt went 3-0 in doubles Thursday to help Moapa Valley's girls tennis team take over first place in the Sunrise League with a 10-8 victory over visiting Desert Pines.

Brighton Crawford and Lisa Bruckmann each finished 2-0 in singles for the Pirates.

Ashley Palacios was 3-0 in singles for the Jaguars.

Eldorado 10, Virgin Valley 9 — At Eldorado, Cheyenne Delicate went 3-0 in singles, and the Sundevils won a tiebreaker over the Bulldogs.

Heather Holman and Jessica Samano went 2-1 for Eldorado, which won five of the six tiebreakers after the teams split their 18 regulation sets.

Madison Fielding and Clarine Zeelenberg went 3-0 in doubles for Virgin Valley.

Bonanza 11, Cimarron-Memorial 7 — At Bonanza, Abby Lords and Caroline Thuet finished 3-0 in doubles to lead the Bengals past the Spartans.

Justine Felix was 3-0 in singles for Cimarron.

Arbor View 12, Desert Oasis 6 — At Desert Oasis, the Aggies swept the nine singles sets in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Catherine Arizmendez, Devin Diesko and Kahlea Kimoto each went 3-0 in singles for Arbor View.

The doubles teams of Madison Munns and Danielle Tacker, and Kirsten Mauban and Jolene Stewart each went 3-0 for Desert Oasis.

Silverado 13, Canyon Springs 5 — At Canyon Springs, Tiffany Theophil was 3-0 in singles to lead the Skyhawks by the Pioneers.

Caitlin Linkin and Megan Lopez each went 2-0 in singles for Silverado.

Boulder City 14, Sunrise Mountain 4 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Eagles swept the singles sets en route to a win over the Miners.

Natalia Fullmer, Harley Fullmer and Natalie Bowman each went 3-0 in singles for Boulder City. Kyra Yamamoto and McKenna Frazier were 3-0 in doubles for the Eagles.

Liberty 15, Valley 3 — At Liberty, Katerina Singh and Jada Whited went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Patriots past the Vikings.

The Meadows 15, Western 3 — At The Meadows, Olivia Waysack and Ava Frazier went 2-0 in doubles to lead the Mustangs past the Warriors.

Tech 12, Del Sol 6 — At Del Sol, Avery Rayos was 2-0 in singles to lead the Roadrunners past the Dragons.

Faith Lutheran 12, Adelson School 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Crusaders won by forfeit.

BOYS

Liberty 10, Valley 9 — At Liberty, Kevin Bloomquist went 3-0 in singles, and the Patriots downed the Vikings in a tiebreaker.

After the teams split the regulation sets, Liberty won five of six tiebreaker games to secure the victory.

Marty Heavey and Alex Gustilo went 3-0 in doubles for Valley.

Virgin Valley 10, Eldorado 8 — At Eldorado, Simon Kahlert was 3-0 in singles as the Bulldogs nipped the Sundevils.

Eldorado's doubles teams of Travis Bowe and Jordan Eldred, and Ian Reber and Justin Sith both went 3-0.

Bonanza 11, Cimarron-Memorial 7 — At Bonanza, Weston Clark and Justin Balconi each went 3-0 in singles to power the Bengals by the Spartans.

Noah Loeffler and Adrianne Lopez went 3-0 in doubles for Cimarron.

Moapa Valley 12, Desert Pines 6 — At Overton, Andy Beckstrand was 2-0 in singles to help the Pirates defeat the Jaguars.

Chase Kruse and Koby Frei were 2-0 in doubles for Moapa Valley.

Kevin Giron was 2-1 in singles for Desert Pines.

Faith Lutheran 13, Adelson School 5 — At Darling Tennis Center, Jack Stevens was 2-0 in singles as the Crusaders downed the Lions.

The doubles teams of Brandon Brighi and Matt Shuirman, and Kylar Sommers and Trey Sommers each went 2-0 for Faith Lutheran.

Desert Oasis 16, Arbor View 2 — At Desert Oasis, Ben Gajardo was 3-0 in singles as the Diamondbacks routed the Aggies.

Carl Yu and Clarenz Velasco went 3-0 in doubles for Desert Oasis.

Del Sol 11, Tech 7 — At Del Sol, the Dragons defeated the Roadrunners.

Silverado 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, the Skyhawks won by forfeit.

The Meadows 12, Western 0 — At The Meadows, the Mustangs won by forfeit.
