VOLLEYBALL: Diamondbacks hold off Spartans in five sets

Logan DeLong had 10 kills, seven assists and two aces Wednesday to lead host Cimarron-Memorial's girls volleyball team to a 25-12, 17-25, 26-24, 17-25, 15-6 win over Desert Oasis.

Alyssa Karpinski put down six kills, and Alex Payan added two aces and 11 digs for the Spartans.

Kira Beckerle led the Diamondbacks with 10 kills and two aces. Madison Norr added six kills, two aces and three digs, and teammate Laityn Sarna notched 27 assists and three aces for the Diamondbacks.

Bonanza 3, Centennial 2 — At Centennial, Hayley Huntsman recorded 25 assists, 17 digs and nine kills, and Taryn Warner had 10 kills as the Bengals rallied to beat the Bulldogs, 10-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-10.

Jaycie Johnson added nine kills for Bonanza.

Talie Bonds led Centennial with 25 assists, 14 kills and 11 digs, and teammate Gabrielle Neuman supplied 20 assists and six kills.

Kjersten Saunders added 24 digs, and Kiana Falefitu 10 kills for Centennial.

Shadow Ridge 3, Palo Verde 0 — At Palo Verde, Whittnee Nihipali notched 15 kills and 21 digs, and Kizzy Rodriguez had 36 digs to help the Mustangs to 25-17, 25-16, 25-23 sweep of the Panthers.

Karly Barker had 19 digs, and Eadara Files dished out 23 assists for Shadow Ridge.

Kayla Kinney led Palo Verde with five kills and 12 digs. Katie Condron put down six kills, and Virginia Rallo added 20 digs for the Panthers.

Liberty 3, Las Vegas 2 — At Las Vegas, Maggie Heim had 13 digs and seven kills, and Tiffany Watkins tallied six aces, five kills and two blocks as the Patriots turned back the Wildcats, 15-25, 25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 15-5.

Alexandra Farnsworth had eight kills and three aces, and Elizabeth Branigan added nine digs for Liberty.

Lexia Brockett notched 24 assists, Tajanae Davis had 14 kills and seven digs, and Selena Ridriguez supplied 19 digs for Las Vegas.

Foothill 3, Green Valley 1 — At Green Valley, Whitley Brow had 15 kills, and Kiley McCall finished with 32 assists, 12 digs, four aces and three blocks as the Falcons knocked off the Gators, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-11.

Alyssa McCoy had nine kills and six blocks, and Asia Mabry added five kills, four blocks, two aces and nine digs for Foothill.

Rachel Klopfer led Green Valley with 13 kills, eight digs and two aces, and teammate Carlee Becker had four kills and 19 assists.

Coronado 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Nikki Jackson had 12 kills and five digs, and Navi Lee added 10 kills, four aces and 10 digs to help the Cougars to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-9 victory over the Rams.

Cali Thompson finished with 43 assists, two kills and eight digs for Coronado, which also got contributions from Madison Karcich (eight kills, two digs) and Megan Wang (15 digs).

Karime Raygoza had nine kills and eight digs, and Shaye Robles tallied three aces and seven digs to lead Rancho.

Sierra Vista 3, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, Shantalle Demirjian had 12 kills and eight digs as the Mountain Lions topped the Rattlers, 18-25, 25-13, 27-29, 25-15, 15-11.

Heaven Gutierrez had 24 digs and two aces for Sierra Vista, and teammate Faith Gray-Williams had 35 assists and three aces.

Leilani Limtiaco led Mojave with 10 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Carissa Limtiaco added nine kills and 11 digs, and Sua Estrada had 24 assists and seven digs for the Rattlers.

Pahrump Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Pahrump, Lauren Koenig had nine kills to help the Trojans to a 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 win over the Chargers.

Jill Smith had 14 assists and 17 digs for Pahrump.

Angel Jamerson paced Clark with 13 kills, 12 assists and 13 digs. Tearra Camacho had four kills and 14 digs, and Lindsay Folkerts had six kills and three blocks for the Chargers, who got 12 digs from Alexandria Brown.

Faith Lutheran 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Megan Kronschnabel supplied 29 assists and seven aces to lead the Crusaders to a 25-4, 25-5, 25-11 sweep of the Desert Shields.

Elizabeth Tuls added seven kills for Faith Lutheran.

Danaye Zaragoza had five assists, and Kai Lee Keomaka provided four kills to lead Cheyenne.

Spring Valley 3, Western 0 — At Spring Valley, Danielle Amonica supplied seven kills and seven assists, and Jessica Rafay had five kills, 13 assists and four aces as the Grizzlies beat the Warriors, 25-21, 26-24, 25-17.

Mikayla Miller had seven kills, Alleanna Thomson notched seven digs, and Anna Celestino finished with six digs for Spring Valley.

Destiny Gonzalez provided six kills and six digs, and Nicole Riggs had seven assists to lead Western.

Boulder City 3, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Boulder City, Maggie Roe supplied 17 kills, and Tara Cox had 22 assists and 10 aces to lead the Eagles to a 25-7, 25-20, 16-25, 25-8 win over the Miners.

Jayden Wood added 10 kills for Boulder City.

Selena Martinez notched 16 assists, and Rebecca Ramirez had seven digs to pace Sunrise Mountain.

Moapa Valley 3, Chaparral 0 — At Overton, Shelbi Walker had six kills and six aces, and Eden Whitmore supplied six kills as the Pirates swept the Cowboys, 25-7, 25-8, 26-24.

Madison Bush added four kills and four aces for Moapa Valley.

Canyon Springs 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, the Pioneers snapped a 28-match losing streak with a 25-21, 25-23, 27-25 win over the Vikings.

Canyon Springs' most recent win was a five-set victory over Western on Oct. 17, 2013.
