VOLLEYBALL: Diaz, Falcons outlast Rams in five sets

Branson Diaz had 20 kills and four blocks, and Shilo Chow dished out 51 assists to go along with four kills, three aces and three digs as Foothill’s boys volleyball team outlasted Rancho, 29-31, 25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 15-12 on Wednesday.

Colin Curi finished with 12 kills, four aces and nine digs, and Steve Robison added 12 kills and five digs for the Falcons.

Martin Rodriguez led the Rams with 17 kills, four aces and 14 digs. Lamont Traylor supplied 14 kills and two blocks, and Douglas Candido had 30 assists and four aces for Rancho.

Valley 3, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Valley, the Vikings were 30-28, 20-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-13 winners over the Mustangs.

Cody Heathcock had 18 kills, and Cutler Leavitt added 12 kills and 26 digs for Shadow Ridge. A.J. Makaiwi had 37 digs, and N.J. Makaiwi supplied 48 assists and four digs for the Mustangs.

Desert Pines 3, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Desert Pines, Gerardo Corral had 18 assists and two aces, and Danny Keosavang had five kills and five aces as the Jaguars topped the Miners, 23-25, 25-13, 25-23, 25-19.

Carlos Flores recorded seven kills, and Estanislao Lansangan added six assists and four kills for Desert Pines.

Domeenic Mota had 10 digs, four kills and two aces, and Brian Ramos supplied 15 digs for Sunrise Mountain, which also got four kills, two blocks and two aces from Deshawn Johns.

Las Vegas 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Trevor Swenson had eight kills and five digs, and Brandon Kampshoff put down seven kills as the Wildcats swept the Pioneers, 25-9, 25-12, 25-16.

Antonio Wong added 20 digs, and Luis Wong had 19 assists for Las Vegas.

Arbor View 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Arbor View, Treven Clizbe had 14 kills, and Aaron Blanchard added four kills and four blocks to help the Aggies to a 25-2, 25-14, 25-17 sweep of the Spartans.

Ben Martin dished out 34 assists for Arbor View.

Cimarron’s Joe Tito recorded four digs and three blocks, and teammate Will Baird had four assists and four digs.

Palo Verde 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Gorman, Michael Simister had 10 kills and 11 digs to lead the Panthers to a 25-17, 25-21, 25-23 win over the Gaels.

Tristan Bradford added six kills and three blocks, and Cole Willson had 24 assists and nine digs for Palo Verde.

Charles Polnow led Gorman with 10 kills and four aces, and teammate Jacob Taylor recorded nine kills and six digs. Josh Holland had 24 assists and four digs, and Blake Spurduti had 16 digs for the Gaels.

Legacy 3, Durango 0 — At Legacy, Anthony Delgado dished out 24 assists to lead the Longhorns to a 25-12, 25-21, 25-18 sweep of the Trailblazers.

Zaire Franklin put down 10 kills, and Anthony Guevara provided five kills and four digs for Legacy, which got six kills from Omari Wheeler.

Andre Shabazz notched 13 assists and seven digs, and Jaylen Clark added seven kills for Durango.

Tech 3, Del Sol 0 — At Tech, Josh Wood had six kills, five aces, 16 assists and five digs to help the Roadrunners to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-21 win over the Dragons.

Bryant Pochop added 10 kills and three digs, and Sean Larson had four kills, two aces and two digs for Tech.
