VOLLEYBALL: Liberty rallies from two sets down in win over Gorman

Brandon Baliza had 18 kills, and Brycen Ivester dished out 32 assists Thursday to help Liberty’s boys volleyball team rally for an 18-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-15, 15-10 win over visiting Bishop Gorman.
Ian Tia had five kills and four blocks, and Robin Pedro added eight digs for the Patriots.
Green Valley 3, Foothill 2 — At Green Valley, Chase Larson had 14 kills, five digs and four blocks, and Dustin Elliott added 17 kills and 10 digs to help the Gators outlast the Falcons, 25-19, 6-25, 20-25, 28-26, 15-13.
James Reed contributed 13 kills, three aces and five digs, and Tyler Dancel had 10 digs for Green Valley.
Colin Curi had 18 kills and six digs, and Shilo Chow recorded four kills and 37 assists for Foothill, which also got 15 digs from Zachary Sangster.
Western 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Kristopher Poole had 12 kills and five digs, and Gerardo Cardenas added five kills and three aces to lead the Warriors to a 25-15, 25-20, 23-25, 25-22 win over the Grizzlies.
William Riggs recorded 32 assists and 11 digs for Western.
Troy Lance had 16 kills, eight blocks, seven assists and four digs for Spring Valley. Stevan Paukovic added eight kills, and Ben Colunga contributed 13 assists and three digs for the Grizzlies.
Clark 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Walt Benda had 10 kills, and Andrew Orr added six kills as the Chargers topped the Desert Shields, 25-16, 22-25, 25-14, 25-17.
Henok Mucheye put down five kills and had three blocks, and Walter Regalado dished out 23 assists for Clark.
Alahjan Banks had 12 kills for Cheyenne, and teammate Romello James recorded six kills.
Arbor View 3, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Sam Buckels had 25 kills and nine blocks to lead the Aggies to a 20-25, 25-17, 25-9, 25-23 win over the Bengals.
Kaneen Manuel had 18 kills and four blocks, and Treven Clizbe had nine kills and nine blocks for Arbor View.
Andrew Jensen had 22 kills, and Luis Raygoza dished out 35 assists for Bonanza, which got eight kills and eight digs from Robby Adair.
Rancho 3, Eldorado 1 — At Rancho, Lamont Traylor’s 16 kills, four aces and two blocks helped the Rams claim a 25-23, 22-25, 27-25, 25-16 win over the Sundevils.
Ryan Hafen had 12 kills, and Douglas Candido added 37 assists and eight digs for Rancho, which also got nine kills from Montef Hargrove.
Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Coronado, Karriem Beyah had 19 kills and four digs to lead the Cougars to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-22 victory over the Wolves.
Samuel Cox had 42 assists and four digs, and teammate Cole Gerrard had 20 digs for Coronado. Matt Johnson added seven kills and three digs for the Cougars.
Wyatt Williams led Basic with 18 assists. Brad McDonald added five kills, and Bo Peterson had eight digs for the Wolves.
Centennial 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Tanner Polley had 12 aces and nine kills to lead the Bulldogs past the Spartans, 25-9, 25-10, 25-9.
Tanner Durkin recorded seven kills, and Grant Nelson had 30 assists and three aces for Centennial.
Will Baird had 10 assists and three digs for Cimarron.
Mojave 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Mojave, Jordan Glenn had 12 kills and five blocks to lead the Rattlers past the Mountain Lions, 25-9, 25-12, 25-22.
Clayton Fontano had 10 kills and four aces, and Jason Zambrano had 27 assists and four blocks for Mojave, which got seven kills from Alex Carvalho.
Chris Cooke had six kills, and Brendan Cowden dished out 22 assists for Sierra Vista, which got three kills from Jordan Kirtley.
