BOYS SWIMMING: Velazquez has record-setting day for Green Valley

Michael Velazquez set two school records Saturday and helped Green Valley’s boys swimming team to a 190-73 win over Valley at Multi-Generational.

Velazquez won the 100-yard backstroke in 52.52 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 50.18, establishing school records in both events.

The Gators’ Connor Smith won the 200 freestyle in 2:02.14 and the 50 freestyle in 23.32.

Basic 189, Liberty 65 — At Multi-Generational, Luke Barr and Liam Wetzel each won two individual events to help the Wolves top the Patriots.

Barr won the 200 freestyle in 2:17.9 and the 500 freestyle in 6:24.52. Wetzel took the 200 individual medley in 2:06.79 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.84.

Las Vegas 153, Silverado 104 — At Multi-Generational, Sam Blackburn won two individual events to lead the Wildcats by the Skyhawks.

Blackburn took the 100 freestyle in 54.59 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.68.

Del Sol 118, Chaparral 47 — At Multi-Generational, Stuart Hall won two individual events as the Dragons defeated the Cowboys.

Hall took the 50 freestyle in 25.5 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.62.

Eldorado 132, Sunrise Mountain 117 — At Heritage, Tyler Harper and Max Thomas each won one individual event and finished second in another to help the Sundevils top the Miners.

Harper won the 500 freestyle in 6:22.99 and was second in the 50 freestyle. Thomas captured the 100 freestyle in 58.21 and was second in the 100 butterfly.

Foothill 223, Rancho 60 — At Heritage, Riley Bidwell and Jesus Garza each won two individual events as the Falcons downed the Rams.

Bidwell took the 100 freestyle in 55.2 and the 100 backstroke in 1:04.23. Garza claimed the 200 freestyle in 1:58.08 and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.93.

Boulder City 192, Tech 64 — At Heritage, Nick Lara, Jason Lyon and Sam Sauerbrei each won two individual events to power the Eagles by the Roadrunners.

Lara claimed the 100 butterfly in 55.16 and the 500 freestyle in 4:59.3. Lyon was first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.94 and the 200 individual medley in 2:10.6, and Sauerbrei breezed to wins in the 200 freestyle in 1:49.1 and the 100 freestyle in 49.22.

Boulder City also was a 191½-43½ winner over Desert Pines.

Bishop Gorman 181, Centennial 86 — At Pavilion, Aidan Kennelley won two individual events to help the Gaels top the Bulldogs.

Kennelley took the 100 butterfly in 59.18 and the 500 freestyle in 5:34.32.

Centennial’s Brennan Gravely won the 200 freestyle in 1:59.5 and the 200 individual medley in 2:20.78.

Arbor View 195, Bonanza 62 — At Pavilion, Tanner Franks and William Morgan each won two individual events as the Aggies downed the Bengals.

Franks won the 200 individual medley in 2:12.89 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.34, and Morgan took the 100 freestyle in 58.94 and the 100 backstroke in 1:11.94.

Palo Verde 229, Durango 39 — At Pavilion, Mihail Amiorkov and Jack Ketelson each won two individual events to lead the Panthers by the Trailblazers.

Amiorkov took the 200 individual medley in 2:01.18 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.65. Ketelson won the 200 freestyle in 2:08.09 and the 100 butterfly in 59.08.

Cimarron-Memorial 106, Desert Oasis 27 — At Pavilion, Noah Bachir won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.03 and the 100 butterfly in 1:05.38 to lead the Spartans by the Diamondbacks.

Desert Oasis’ Jonathan Liaos won the 50 freestyle in 26.56 and the 500 freestyle in 5:43.
