GIRLS BASKETBALL: Kirby leads Diamondbacks by visiting Bengals

Mikayla Kirby scored 18 points, and Taryn Lampkin had 17 points Tuesday to lead Desert Oasis’ girls basketball team to a 63-60 win over visiting Bonanza.

Ashlynn Sharp added 12 points, and sank 4 of 4 free-throw attempts in the final minute to preserve the win for the Diamondbacks.

Alyssa Powers poured in 24 points, and Brooklyn Savage supplied 21 points to lead the Bengals.

Coronado 45, Basic 36 — At Basic, Kayla Watterson had 15 points to help the Cougars beat the Wolves.

Karlie Thorn added 12 points for Coronado.

Dana Deloney scored 20 points to lead Basic, and teammate Jayla Brown added 12 points.

Silverado 40, Las Vegas 36 — At Las Vegas, Monet Salazar scored 15 points to help the Skyhawks outlast the Wildcats.

Deja Siaki added 11 points for Silverado, which trailed 27-26 after three quarters.

Adrina Collins led Las Vegas with 14 points.

Arbor View 59, Cimarron-Memorial 27 — At Arbor View, Katrina Nordstrom scored 20 points as the Aggies routed the Spartans.

Ariona Gill added 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots for Arbor View, which led 45-14 at halftime.

Shauntel Efferson had seven points for Cimarron.

Foothill 65, Eldorado 16 — At Eldorado, Taylor Turney scored 12 points to help the Falcons roll by the Sundevils.

Maddie King and Kylie Vint added nine points apiece for Foothill, which led 45-8 at the half.

Needles 54, Mountain View 47 — At Mountain View, Brenna Chavez scored 20 points to lead the Mustangs past the Saints.

Jasmine Mejia added 16 points for Needles.

Kiley Murphy had 23 points, and Rose Adkins scored 15 for Mountain View.

The Meadows 52, Calvary Chapel 23 — At The Meadows, Hana Resch had 20 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Mustangs by the Lions.

Bailey Gosse added 15 points for The Meadows, which led 33-9 at the half.

Malia Lee paced Calvary Chapel with seven points.

Indian Springs 26, Adelson School 23 — At Indian Springs, Sevanna Morgando and Zoe Crow each scored six points to help the Thunderbirds top the Lions.

Tamar Tecktiel had 15 points for Adelson School.

Sandy Valley 38, Word of Life 11 — At Sandy Valley, Esmerelda Solano-Sanchez had 16 points and eight steals to help the Sidewinders rout the Eagles.

Jacinda Fansher grabbed 11 rebounds, and Samantha Cripe had 10 rebounds for Sandy Valley, which used a 21-3 run in the middle quarters to pull away.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
