BOYS BASKETBALL: Jeter, Gaels top Etiwanda

Chase Jeter had 19 points and 16 rebounds Saturday to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys basketball team to a 72-51 win over Etiwanda (Calif.) in the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, Calif.

Nick Blair and Charles O’Bannon each scored 15 points, and Stephen Zimmerman had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Gaels, who scored the first eight points of the game and never trailed.

Kameron Edwards led the Eagles with 20 points.

Calvary Chapel 58, Mountain View 47 — At Mountain View, Riley Clark scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers to lead the Lions by the Saints.

Matthew Harney added 13 points, and Jake Berdan scored 11 for Calvary Chapel, which finished the game on a 14-0 run.

Connor LeBoeuf, Tevin Gray and Tyrell Brooks each scored 11 points for Mountain View.

Needles 69, White Pine 28 — At Needles, Calif., Derek Wagstaff had 21 points, 10 assists and 10 steals to lead the Mustangs in a rout of the Bobcats.

Trenton Poe-Evans had 14 points, and Devin Darrow added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Needles.

Chris Young led White Pine with 15 points.

Lincoln County 60, Laughlin 36 — At Laughlin, Derek Shumway scored 20 points to help the Lynx pull away from the Cougars.

McClain O’Connor added 17 points for Lincoln County, which led 30-26 at the half.

Corey Anderson paced Laughlin with 15 points.

Pahranagat Valley 59, Beatty 24 — At Alamo, Wade Leavitt led a balanced attack with 12 points as the Panthers routed the Hornets.

Tabor Maxwell added nine points for Pahranagat Valley, which used a 30-9 run in the middle quarters to pull away.

Luis Flores led Beatty with nine points.
