BOYS VOLLEYBALL: West, Aggies ace Legacy in five sets

Jacob West had four aces, including the match winner, to lead Arbor View’s boys volleyball team to a 27-25, 22-25, 22-25, 27-25, 15-11 victory over visiting Legacy on Thursday.

Sam Buckels had 28 kills, seven digs and three blocks for the Aggies, and teammate Ben Martin had 36 assists and four digs. Brenden Gougeon added 22 digs for Arbor View.

Zaire Franklin led Legacy with 17 kills, four aces and four digs. Anthony Delgado had 30 assists, and teammate Anthony Guevara had 11 digs for the Longhorns.

Palo Verde 3, Bonanza 2 — At Bonanza, Michael Simister had 23 kills and seven digs to lead the Panthers to a 25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-11 victory over the Bengals.

Cole Wilson had 42 assists for Palo Verde, and teammate Jonathan Hecker had 21 digs.

Andrew Jensen led Bonanza with 15 kills and seven digs. Bronson Duckworth added eight kills and five digs, and teammate Luis Raygoza had 39 assists and seven digs for the Bengals.

Tech 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Tech, Bryant Pochop had 13 kills to lead the Roadrunners to a 25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 25-18 victory over the Desert Shields.

Josh Wood added five kills, five aces and 13 assists, and teammate Juan Flores had four kills for Tech.

Shadow Ridge 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, A.J. Makaiwi had 19 digs to lead the Mustangs to a 25-16, 25-8, 25-10 sweep of the Spartans.

Christopher McInnes added 18 assists, and teammate Austin Cram supplied seven digs and five kills for Shadow Ridge.

Joe Tito had six digs and four kills to lead Cimarron.

Centennial 3, Durango 0 — At Centennial, Tanner Durkin and Terrell Hicks each had seven kills to lead the Bulldogs past the Trailblazers, 25-10, 25-16, 25-16.

Kyle McKamey had 22 assists, and Cody Graham added 14 digs for Centennial.

Michael Diggins had six kills to lead Durango, and teammate Andre Shabazz added 14 assists.

Sierra Vista 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Jordan Kirtley had nine kills to lead the Mountain Lions past the Jaguars, 25-14, 25-21, 25-22.

Steven Thomas and Nik Fava each had seven kills for Sierra Vista.

Estanislao Lansangan had four kills to lead Desert Pines. Ortega Wiltz and DeAngelo Dixon each added three kills for the Jaguars.

Spring Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Eric Clark served four aces to lead the Grizzlies to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 sweep of the Miners.

Troy Lance had two kills and two blocks, and teammate Jacob Teems-Robinson added three aces and two digs for Spring Valley.

Sunrise Mountain’s Brian Ramos had 15 digs and two aces, and Theodore Williams added five digs and four aces for the Miners.

Del Sol 3, Western 0 — At Del Sol, Jared Moreda had seven kills, six blocks and four digs to help the Dragons to a 25-14, 25-5, 25-17 win over the Warriors.

Del Sol’s Blane Quitog had five kills, seven aces and four digs, and teammate La’akea Cabanas added five kills, five aces and three digs.

Sky Tillmond led Western with five kills and two aces.

Clark 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, the Chargers defeated the Cowboys, 25-17, 25-21, 25-15.

Chaparral’s Ezequiel Borrero had nine assists, and Jose Chavez had five kills and three blocks for the Cowboys.
