SWIMMING: Irwin, Padilla lead Spring Valley boys to win

Kaleb Irwin and Jorge Padilla each won two events to help Spring Valley’s boys swimming team to a 125-97 victory over Cheyenne on Wednesday at Adelson School.
Irwin touched first in the 200-meter freestyle in a time of 2 minutes, 39.44 seconds and also won the 500 freestyle 5:50.18. Padilla was victorious in the 100 butterfly (1:11.61) and the 100 breaststroke (1:23.18).
Lions edge Rattlers
At Adelson, the host Lions won two of the three relays and defeated Mojave 104-81.
Jake Buchman, Jimmy Cheng, Edan Cohen, Noah Ferber and Morgan Kankowski each won an individual event for the Lions.
GIRLS
Leemor Aizenberg and Camryn Armstrong won two events apiece as host Adelson School beat Mojave, 136-75.
Aizenberg took the 200 freestyle in 2:39.52 and the 100 backstroke in 1:25.03. Armstrong finished first in the 50 freestyle (33.34) and the 100 freestyle (1:17.82).
Grizzlies cruise past Desert Shields
At Adelson, Paige Jacobson and Ashlyn Lessenger finished first in two individual events to lift Spring Valley to a 172-70 win over Cheyenne.
Jacobson finished first in the 200 freestyle (2:23.41) and the 400 freestyle in 5:08.14. Lessenger captured the 200 individual medley in 2:40.58 and touched first in the 100 butterfly in 1:14.08.
