BASEBALL: Blaylock gets out of jam, seals win for Shadow Ridge

Isaiah Blaylock worked out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the bottom of the seventh inning Monday to help Shadow Ridge’s baseball team hold on for a 5-4 win at Centennial.

The Mustangs trailed 3-0 after two innings, but rallied to take a 5-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh.

The Bulldogs put the first four hitters of the inning on base on two walks, a single and a hit batsman, trimming the lead to 5-4 with the bases loaded and no outs. But Blaylock recovered to get a fly ball to left, a pop up to second and a strikeout to end the game.

Chris Opolka went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI, and Jake Wilson was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Hayden Grant was 2-for-4, and Zach Dixon went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI for Centennial.

Cimarron-Memorial 5, Desert Oasis 3 — At Desert Oasis, Niko Decolati’s RBI double in the top of the eighth inning broke a 3-3 tie and lifted the Spartans by the Diamondbacks.

Decolati doubled home Todd Danzeisen and continued on to third on the throw to the plate. He scored when Tyler Giovinco reached on a error.

Decolati was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and four RBIs for Cimarron. Danzeisen was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs, and teammate Noah Parker went 2-for-4 with a double for the Spartans.

Nolan Kingham was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Arbor View 1, Bonanza 0 — At Arbor View, Jayce Gardner’s bases-loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning forced in Quinn Gallagher with the game’s only run as the Aggies nipped the Bengals.

Gallagher drew a one-out walk to start the rally and advanced to third on Justin Rivera’s double. With the bases loaded, Gardner worked a 10-pitch walk to end the game.

Sam Pastrone and Ryan Brown combined on a five-hitter for Arbor View. Pastrone struck out 10 in six innings.

Rancho 9, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Kavion Kealoha tossed a four-hitter and struck out 13 to lead the Rams by the Sundevils.

Edarian Williams went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Rancho.

Coronado 5, Foothill 0 — At Coronado, Adam Garcia and Daniel Witoslawski combined on a two-hitter as the Cougars blanked the Falcons.

Sterling Saltz was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, two runs and three RBIs, and teammate Donte Glover went 2-for-3 with two runs for Coronado.

Spring Valley 9, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Nick Rupp tossed a six-hitter with 16 strikeouts to lead the Grizzlies by the Trojans.

Rupp was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Bryce Bullock was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Spring Valley. Jake Sellinger was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for the Grizzlies.

Faith Lutheran 7, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Zach Trageton went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Crusaders past the Mountain Lions.

Joshua Harmonay also had a triple and a double for Faith Lutheran.

Dylan White had a two-run double in the first inning for Sierra Vista.

Clark 12, Cheyenne 3 — At Cheyenne, Stefan McLin went 4-for-5 with a triple to lead the Chargers by the Desert Shields.

Brendan Palmer and Miguel Carrillo each had two hits, including a double, for Clark. Matthew Thompson and Guy Tannebaum each added two hits for the Chargers.

Silverado 10, Legacy 3 — At Legacy, Michael Janosik allowed one hit and struck out four in 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to lead the Skyhawks past the Longhorns.

James Skelly was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Payton Ballard was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Silverado.

Las Vegas 22, Durango 2 — At Las Vegas, Hector Perez was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and four RBIs as the Wildcats routed the Trailblazers.

Eddie Ojeda was 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs, and Andrew Aleman was 2-for-3 with a double, four runs and three RBIs for Las Vegas, which scored 14 runs in the first inning.

Laughlin 11-21, Lake Mead 9-11 — At Heritage Park, winning pitcher Coda Abbati had three hits, and the Cougars used a pair of six-run innings in the nightcap to finish off a sweep of the Eagles.

Brandon Nelson had three RBIs in the finale for Laughlin.

In the opener, winning pitcher Andrew Estes had two hits and two RBIs to lead Laughlin.

Lake Mead’s Brandon Nelson had five RBIs in the doubleheader.

Cheyenne Mountain (Colo.) 20, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Tristan Strickland had four hits as the Indians routed the Jaguars in four innings.

Mojave 7, Western 0 — At Western, the Rattlers won by forfeit.

Liberty baseball coach Rich Ebarb died Wednesday night, the school confirmed. Ebarb has a long coaching resume in Southern Nevada.
