GOLF: Gaels edge Chargers on tiebreaker

Sarah James shot a 5-over-par 40 at Bear’s Best on Wednesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s girls golf team to victory over Clark in a dual meet.

Both teams shot 175, but Gorman’s sixth golfer carded a 47, 15 strokes better than Clark’s No. 5.

Cassandra Ho and Sabrina Ho led the Chargers by shooting a 41 and 42, respectively. Grace Kang finished fourth with a 43 for Clark.

Gorman’s Alexis Silvis rounded out the top five with a 44.

Eagles’ Potter wins Sunrise Match

At Las Vegas National, Boulder City’s Lani Potter carded a 12-over 84 to earn medalist honors in a Sunrise League match.

Tech’s Meghan Chase was second with a 91. The Roadrunners were the only squad to post a team score, finishing with 460.

Gators top Diamondbacks

At Legacy, Mercedes Khumnark shot a 5-over 41 to lead Green Valley to a 196-205 win over Desert Oasis.

Ashley Malone led the Diamondbacks with a 43.
