TENNIS: Clark boys secure Sunset League title

Chaitanya Ingle and Marcus Pasimio went 3-0 in doubles on Thursday as Clark’s boys tennis team secured the Sunset League title with an 11-7 win at The Meadows.

Kevin Chau was 3-0 in singles for the Mustangs.

Valley 10, Las Vegas 9 — At Las Vegas, the doubles teams of Chase Fayeghi and Alex Gustilo, and A.J. Duff and Michael Brickell each went 3-0 as the Vikings nipped the Wildcats.

The teams split their 18 regulation sets, and each won three of the six tiebreaker games. Valley outscored the Wildcats, 35-31 in the tiebreakers to secure the win.

Trey Chauncey was 3-0 in singles, and Benjamin Bowen went 2-1 in singles for Las Vegas.

Bonanza 11, Arbor View 7 — At Bonanza, Andy Stephenson and Cyrus Nelson each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Bengals by the Aggies.

Justin Balconi and Weston Clark went 3-0 in doubles for Bonanza.

Lucas Cordova and John David went 2-1 in doubles for Arbor View.

Liberty 13, Silverado 5 — At Liberty, Al Gourrier and Matt Drongensen each went 3-0 in singles as the Patriots rolled by the Skyhawks.

Dylan Ihmels and Tristan Hoyle were 3-0 in doubles for Liberty.

Ryan Pappas and Lawson Borla were 2-1 in doubles for Silverado.

Del Sol 12, Basic 6 — At Del Sol, Christian Wallace and Matt Styck went 3-0 in doubles to help the Dragons top the Wolves.

Basic’s Tyler McCoy was 2-1 in singles.

Spring Valley 14, Western 1 — At Spring Valley, Eric Clark and Adam Lychuk went 3-0 in doubles as the Grizzlies topped the Warriors.

Sierra Vista 13, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Kayvaan Adrangi and Leyland Jakubczak each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Mountain Lions by the Rattlers.

Centennial 17, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Centennial, Raul Saucedo, Connor Paul and Noah Siegle each went 2-0 in singles as the Bulldogs rolled by the Spartans.

Centennial’s doubles teams of Andrew Boggess and Thomas Felt, Derick Sosa and Matthew Boggess and Mitchell Stratton and Tanner Durkin each went 2-0.

Adelson School 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, the Lions won by forfeit.

GIRLS

Bonanza 12, Arbor View 6 — At Bonanza, Lauren Smith and Emma Nelson both went 3-0 in singles as the Bengals won the Northwest League title by topping the Aggies.

Ashlee McKenna and Lake Luther were 3-0 in doubles for Bonanza.

Liberty 17, Silverado 1 — At Liberty, Breanna Alvarez went 3-0 in singles as the Patriots wrapped up the Northeast League title by routing the Skyhawks.

Valley 10, Las Vegas 9 — At Las Vegas, the doubles teams of Megan Jones and Olivia Jensen, and Annelisa Laizure and Carolina Pena-Navarro each went 3-0 as the Vikings edged the Wildcats on a tiebreaker.

The teams split their 18 regulation sets, and each won three of the six tiebreakers, but the Vikings outscored the Wildcats, 28-26 in the tiebreaker to secure the win.

Karla Torrez and Jana Espares each went 3-0 in singles for Las Vegas.

Del Sol 10, Basic 8 — At Del Sol, Alina Marruffo and Milady Ramirez both went 3-0 in singles as the Dragons edged the Wolves.

Centennial 12, Cimarron-Memorial 6 — At Centennial, the doubles team of Alyssa Lourenco and Forrest Warner-McRoy went 3-0 to help the Bulldogs to victory over the Spartans.

Kaitlin McDaniel was 2-0 in singles for Centennial.

Cimarron’s Justine Felix was 2-0 in singles.

The Meadows 14, Clark 4 — At The Meadows, Anuja Daulat was 3-0 in singles to lift the Mustangs by the Chargers.

Samantha Gondy and Shalini Shah were 3-0 in doubles for The Meadows.

Cheyenne 11, Adelson School 4 — At Cheyenne, Breana Presmyk went 3-0 in singles to help the Desert Shields top the Lions.

The doubles teams of Destiny Rose and Cierra McFarland, and Sabrina Ramirez and Viviana Corella each went 2-0.

Sydni Ferber was 2-1 in singles for Adelson School.

Spring Valley 17, Western 1 — At Spring Valley, the doubles teams of Sarah Estenson and Judy Hodge, Sydney Prazato and Shea Sanchez and Jessica Del Frute and Karina Herrera all went 2-0 as the Grizzlies topped the Warriors.

Sierra Vista vs. Mojave — The Sierra Vista at Mojave match was suspended due to darnkess with the Mountain Lions holding a 9-8 lead.

The teams will complete the match Monday. The winner advances to the Division I-A Southern Region tournament.
