GOLF: Becker fires 4-under, Crusaders win Sunset match
Julia Becker fired a 4-under-par 68 at Palm Valley on Thursday to lead Faith Lutheran’s girls golf team to a victory in a Division I-A Sunset League match.
The Crusaders had a team score of 331, and Clark finished second at 346. Pahrump Valley (430) was third, followed by Sierra Vista at 495.
Faith Lutheran’s Sydney Smith shot 77 and was the runner-up.
Sabrina Ho shot 81 to lead Clark. Teammate Grace Kang added an 84, while Cassandra Ho shot 87 for the Chargers.
Centennial tops Palo Verde
At Paiute, Nicole August shot an 8-over-par 44 to help Centennial to a 182-200 victory over Palo Verde.
The Panthers’ Morgan Zimmerman took medalist honors with a 40.
Hayley England and Kianna Arizmendi tied for third at 45 for the Bulldogs.
