BOYS BASKETBALL: Brown, Bulldogs rally to top Cougars

Troy Brown had 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists Wednesday to help Centennial’s boys basketball team rally for a 62-58 win over visiting Coronado.

Garett Scheer scored 14, and Darrian Traylor added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs, who trailed 27-25 at halftime before outscoring the Cougars, 22-12, in the third quarter.

Isaiah Banks had 10 points and six rebounds for Centennial, which was 21-for-26 from the free-throw line.

Coronado’s Nick Kornieck hit five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points. Teammate Jake DesJardins added 13 points for the hot-shooting Cougars. Twelve of the team’s 19 field goals were 3-pointers.

Spring Valley 58, Cimarron-Memorial 54 — At Spring Valley, Carl Albert had 14 points to help the Grizzlies edge the Spartans.

Ben Sison added 11 points for Spring Valley, which led 42-33 after three quarters.

Cimarron’s Terrell Walker led all scorers with 23 points, and teammate Kieron Hatchett scored 13 for the Spartans, who were 14-for-28 from the free-throw line.

Bishop Gorman 72, Douglas 28 — At Reno, Stephen Zimmerman had 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals as the Gaels routed the Tigers in the Wild West Shootout at Bishop Mangoue.

Chase Jeter had 20 points and 12 rebounds for Gorman, which outscored Douglas 44-12 in the middle quarters.

Nick Blair added seven assists for the Gaels.

Michael Johnson led Douglas with nine points.

Beaver Dam 43, Indian Springs 19 — At Indian Springs- Luis Gonzalez had 14 points, and Carlos Sherrill scored 13 as the Diamondbacks topped the Thunderbirds.

Beaver Dam held Indian Springs scoreless in the second quarter and allowed two points in the fourth quarter.

Sebastian Smith and Gabe Brownotter each scored six points for Indian Springs.
