WRESTLING: Clayton pins opponent in 13 seconds, Trojans beat Mountain Lions

Pahrump Valley’s Jace Clayton pinned his opponent in 13 seconds in the 285-pound match on Thursday, leading the Trojans to a 54-27 wrestling victory over visiting Sierra Vista.

Levi Gundacker (138), Jaxon Clayton (195) and Jeremy Coates (220) also recorded first-period pins for Pahrump. John Clark (152) and Jonathan Corrow (182) also won by fall for the Trojans.

Justis Schuefer (113), Noah Slabaugh (126), Phillip Dalton (132) and Marcus Polk (160) won by fall for the Mountain Lions.

Liberty 48, Foothill 36 — At Shadow Ridge, the Patriots won five matches by pinfall and three more by forfeit to top the Falcons.

Kyle Penalosa (120), Jakob Hartung (145), Marco Hatten (152), Storm Roper (160) and Nicholas Watnem (220) won by pin for Liberty.

Foothill’s R.J. Banos (285), Angel Camacho (195), Damian Ortega (138), Jacob Chavez (132) and Nicholas Bottoms (126) each recorded a pin.

Shadow Ridge 42, Foothill 24 — At Shadow Ridge, Austin Jones’ win by fall at 160 started a streak of four straight victories that lifted the Mustangs by the Falcons.

Lucas Washington (145), John Scarpati (182), Kevin Henry (195) and Tyler Carter (220) also scored a pin for Shadow Ridge.

Bottoms (126), Tony Spatafore (152) and Banos (285) won by pin for Foothill.

Shadow Ridge 51, Liberty 15 — At Shadow Ridge, Jacob Rivas (138), Daniel Anderson (152) and Tyler Carter (220) won by pin for the Mustangs in a victory over the Patriots.

Shadow Ridge 42, Centennial 12 — At Shadow Ridge, Carter (285) recorded the only pin of the match as the Mustangs downed the Bulldogs.

Centennial 42, Liberty 34 — At Shadow Ridge, Roger Alvarado (220) and Jordan Lewis (285) each recorded a pin to allow the Bulldogs to rally from a 34-30 deficit in the final two classes and collect a win over the Patriots.

Brett Giles (152) also won by pin for Centennial.

Adam Knopow (120), Roper (160) and Bakari Speights (195) recorded pins for Liberty.

Centennial 46, Foothill 27 — At Shadow Ridge, Sergio Hernandez’s win by pin at 145 pounds started a string of four straight victories to help the Bulldogs down the Falcons.

John Lessner (160) and Alvarado (220) also won by pin for the Bulldogs.

Banos (285), Ortega (138), and Kohl Velado (120) won by pin for Foothill.
