WRESTLING: Camacho’s pin clinches win for Del Sol

Nico Camacho pinned his opponent at 113 pounds Thursday to break a 36-36 tie and give Del Sol’s wrestling team a 42-36 victory over the Jaguars at Chaparral.

Vishaal Hunt (120), Daron Bates (138), Frances Bongayan (152) and Jorge Preciado (195) also pinned their opponents for Del Sol.

Angel Rocha (132), Eric Awa-Moppert (145) and Jonathan Velasco (160) each won by fall for Desert Pines, which won three matches by forfeit.

Boulder City 54, Desert Pines 30 — At Chaparral, the Eagles won six matches by pin and used three forfeits to top the Jaguars.

Brady Branscum (113), Jimmy Brown (120), Tyler-James Rushworth (138), Patrick Garvin (152), Jacob Jurgschat (195) and Jack Rozycki (285) each won by fall for Boulder City.

Desert Pines’ Rocha (132), Awa-Moppert (145), Velasco (160), Adalberto Santiago (170) and Jorge Magana (182) pinned their opponents.

Desert Pines 39, Chaparral 33 — At Chaparral, Robert Thomas (152) pinned his opponent, and Awa-Moppert won an 8-2 decision as the Jaguars topped the Cowboys.

Desert Pines also took advantage of five forfeits.

Adrian Resendiz (113), Ezequiel Borrero (132) and Eric Liggins (285) each pinned their opponents for Chaparral.
