GIRLS BASKETBALL: Strawther’s double-double helps Patriots top Falcons

Paris Strawther had 18 points and 13 rebounds Thursday to lead Liberty’s girls basketball team to a 47-31 home win over Foothill.

Nancy Caballero supplied 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Patriots, who took a 28-17 halftime advantage.

Katey Roquemore scored eight points to lead the Falcons.

Bonanza 46, Eldorado 43 — At Bonanza, Alyssa Powers had 31 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three assists as the Bengals held off the Sundevils.

Deasia Walker had 24 points for Eldorado, which fell short after a late rally.

Cimarron-Memorial 45, Palo Verde 41 — At Cimarron, Ashli Tyus had 17 points, eight assists and six steals to lead the Spartans past the Panthers.

The Spartans were trailing by five points late in the game when Niara Smith nailed a 3-pointer and a field goal to tie the game. Shauntel Efferson put the game away from the free-throw line.

Zaquae Downton pulled down 15 rebounds for Cimarron.

Jade Garcia-Williams and Alaysia Reed each scored 10 points to lead Palo Verde.

Basic 62, Valley 32 — At Valley, Jayla Brown scored 24 points to lead the Wolves by the Vikings.

Dana Deloney added 16 points for Basic, which led 24-6 after one quarter.

Jezuel Pollins paced Valley with nine points.

Centennial 55, St. Francis (Calif.) 45 — At Phoenix, Justice Ethridge scored 14 points to help the Bulldogs top the Troubadours in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Sarah Kruthaupt added 11 points for Centennial, which led 17-4 after one quarter.

Lauren Craig paced St. Francis with 12 points.

Quest Academy 42, Westview (Ariz.) 40 — At Phoenix, Brianna Osorio made two free throws with 13 seconds left in the game to lift Quest Academy by Westview.

Osorio scored 14 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter as Quest Academy overcame a 32-26 deficit.

Piedmont (Calif.) 57, Coronado 53 — At Phoenix, the Highlanders edged the Cougars in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Kayla Watterson scored 22 points, and Samantha Green had 13 points for Coronado.

Adelson School 28, Lake Mead 24 — At Adelson School, Camryn Armstrong led a balanced effort with seven points as the Lions edged the Eagles.

Shoshana Wexler added six points and 15 rebounds for Adelson School.

Lucy Fletcher led Lake Mead with eight points and 13 rebounds.
