SOFTBALL: Lipe’s perfect day at the plate helps Crusaders clinch league title

Lauryn Lipe went 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBIs Monday as Faith Lutheran’s softball team secured the Sunset League title with a 10-4 win over visiting Pahrump Valley.
Winning pitcher Mosie Foley went 3-for-3 with a double, and Vanessa Valdez was 2-for-3 for the Crusaders.
Amanda Pryor and Jordan Egan each went 3-for-4 with a double for the Trojans.
Bishop Gorman 8, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Gorman, Dayton Yingling tossed a three-hitter and struck out nine to lead the Gaels over the Spartans.
Shelby Estocado was 3-for-4 with a a double, triple and three RBIs for Gorman.
Foothill 15, Basic 4 — At Basic, Kelsey McFarland went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs and two RBIs, and the Falcons scored eight runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie and top the Wolves.
Sarah Maddox was 3-for-5 with two RBIs for Foothill.
Paige Blake was 3-for-4 with three runs for Basic. Jodi Williams went 3-for-4, and teammate Carlie Gettman was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Wolves.
Mojave 8, Western 3 — At Mojave, Danette Daguiar had two doubles, a triple and a two-run homer as the Rattlers downed the Warriors.
Jennessa Dunton hit a solo home run for Western.
Coronado 14, Eldorado 0 — At Coronado, Danielle Amato tossed a five-hitter and struck out five to lead the Cougars over the Sundevils in five innings.
Katie Dawson and Brooke Younie each went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for Coronado, which scored 11 runs in the second inning.
Jazmine Sorchini was 2-for-2 with a double, and Brook Ortiz was 2-for-2 for Eldorado.
Legacy 16, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Alyssa Sotelo was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to help the Longhorns top the Bengals in five innings.
Kiani Elia-Mendiola was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and teammate Haley Pedersen tossed a six-hitter for Legacy.
Raquell Hoyes was 2-for-3 for Bonanza.
Cheyenne 12, Clark 0 — At Cheyenne, Alyssa Fata tossed a five-inning one-hitter and struck out seven to lead the Desert Shields past the Chargers.
Fata was 2-for-2 with three RBIs for Cheyenne, which scored seven runs in the first inning.
Centennial 18, Desert Oasis 3 — At Desert Oasis, Jaden Tate was 3-for-5 with a double and four runs as the Bulldogs topped the Diamondbacks in five innings.
Sonja Lawrence went 3-for-3 with a double, and Savannah Horvath was 2-for-2 with a home run for Centennial.
Heather Reynolds was 1-for-1 with a double for Desert Oasis.
Liberty 16, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Karly Dinkel spun a two-hitter and struck out five as the Patriots defeated the Dragons in five innings.
Valley 25, Chaparral 3 — At Valley, Shannon Williams went 3-for-4 with a two doubles, two runs and six RBIs to lead the Vikings to a five-inning rout of the Cowboys.
Winning pitcher Kristina Manthei went 4-for-5 with three doubles and two RBIs, and Baylee Wieslander was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs for Valley.
