GOLF: James leads Gaels to Southwest win

Christian James shot 2-over-par 74 at Bear’s Best on Tuesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

The Gaels had a team score of 400. Centennial took second at 471, followed by Desert Oasis at 490.

Gorman’s Frank Frisbee and Anthony Lalli each shot 79.

Cimarron-Memorial’s Brandon Smith carded an 80.

Panthers win Northwest League match

At Spanish Trail, Brandon Bauman shot 5-over 77 to help Palo Verde win a Northwest League match.

The Panthers, who also got a 78 from David Tottori, shot 398. Arbor View was second at 416, followed by Shadow Ridge at 427 and Durango at 477.

Arbor View’s Van Thomas was the medalist with a 76.

Shadow Ridge’s Ben Davis shot 78.
