WRESTLING: Heavy hitters carry Eagles past Moapa Valley

Boulder City’s wrestling team won the four heaviest weight classes Wednesday to edge host Moapa Valley, 39-36.

Nelson VanDiest started the streak at 182 pounds, pinning his opponent in 28 seconds.

Jacob Jurgschat (195) and Jackson Dunagan (220) followed with first-period pins, and Kyle Gossard won by forfeit at 285 for the Eagles.

Patrick Garvin (138) also had a pin for Boulder City.

Zak Baldwin (120), Chase Sawyer (126), Dakota Baldwin (132), Jake Repp (145) and Austin Belcher (170) recorded falls for the Pirates.

Spring Valley 45, Arbor View 34 — At Spring Valley, Enzo Perez needed just 39 seconds to pin his opponent at 132 as the Grizzlies beat the Aggies.

Dan Diaz (106), Eduardo Penha (138), Darrian Rodgers (152), Jeremy Beckman (160) and Uzoma Obilar (170) also won by fall for Spring Valley.

Tyler Ramos (120) and Destry Talledo (145) had pins for Arbor View.

Cimarron-Memorial 79, Legacy 3 — At Cimarron, Angel Laurente (132) won by fall in 43 seconds as the Spartans routed the Longhorns.

Omeed Chamanzad (113), Michael Barnson (145), Paul Hammontree (152), Julian Edwards (160), Logan Taylor (170) and Tory Harris (285) all won by fall for Cimarron, which benefited from six forfeits.

Kyler Atkinson (126) had Legacy’s only win by decision.

Cimarron-Memorial 54, Centennial 14 — At Cimarron, the Spartans used six pins to down the Bulldogs.

Jose Bonifaz (106), Jesse Saavedra (120), Paul Bagnoli (126), Laurente (132), Davin Maiden (220) and Harris (285) each won by pin for Cimarron.

Centennial’s Bruno Maraccini (138) and Hunter Brown (195) won by fall.

Centennial 59, Legacy 15 — At Cimarron, Nick Kramer (120), William Richardson (160) and Jordan Lewis (285) each won by pin as the Bulldogs rolled by the Longhorns.

Atkinson (126) won by pin for Legacy.

Pahrump Valley 69, Mojave 8 — At Mojave, David Martinez (113) pinned his opponent in 54 seconds, and the Trojans dominated the Rattlers.

Levi Gundacker (120), Nick Nelson (132), Sam Brophy (138), Samuel Tucsnak (152), Jaxon Clayton (195), Jeremy Coates (220) and Jace Clayton (285) all won by pin for Pahrump.

Lanson Evangelista-Avenue (106) won by technical fall for the Rattlers.
