GIRLS BASKETBALL: Pahrump’s Murphy puts away Desert Shields with late layup

Alyssa Murphy’s layup with six seconds left in the game Wednesday lifted Pahrump Valley’s girls basketball team to a 27-26 home win over Cheyenne.

Shayla Dance tallied nine points and 11 rebounds, and Jillian Smith added nine points for the Trojans.

Bria Buchanan scored 13 points for the Desert Shields.

Sunrise Mountain 48, Desert Pines 44 — At Desert Pines, Brittany Veal scored 21 points to help the Miners edge the Jaguars.

Whykella Haley and Ayla Diaz each added six points for Sunrise Mountain, which outscored Desert Pines 31-18 in the middle quarters.

Chrystian Myles supplied 17 points to lead the Jaguars, who got 11 points from Jordan Bailey.

Moapa Valley 51, Chaparral 47 — At Overton, Kinlee Marshall and Kyla Shumway each scored 11 points to lead the Pirates to victory over the Cowboys.

Summer Evans had six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter for Moapa Valley, which used a 19-7 third-quarter run to pull away.

Abigail Delgado scored 13 points, and Marcia Hawkins added 12 points to lead Chaparral.

Centennial 65, Legacy 36 — At Legacy, Teirra Hicks scored 22 points to guide the Bulldogs by the Longhorns.

Tramina Jordan added 11 points for Centennial, which outscored the Longhorns 44-15 in the second half.

Carolina Rahkonen and Justice Akins each had seven points to lead Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 64, Western 45 — At Faith Lutheran, Dani Tharaldson scored 27 points to lead the Crusaders past the Warriors.

Haley Vinson added 15 points, and Morgan Hill scored 10 for Faith Lutheran, which pulled away with a 25-10 fourth-quarter spurt.

Paea Savou scored 20 points for Western.

Boulder City 53, Tech 24 — At Boulder City, Whitney Barlow had 20 points and 17 rebounds as the Eagles topped the Roadrunners.

Jana Williams added 13 points for Boulder City.

Haylee Holsclaw had eight points for Tech.

Clark 39, Mojave 30 — At Clark, Bobbi Floyd had 15 points to lead the Chargers to a win over the Rattlers.

Ci’Quadya Belser supplied nine points for Clark, which raced out to a 19-8 halftime lead.

Darria Gray scored 12 points to lead Mojave.

Bishop Gorman 66, Cimarron-Memorial 24 — At Gorman, Megan Jacobs had 21 points to lead the Gaels in a rout of the Spartans.

Maddison Washington added 18 points, and Madison Ulrey scored 10 for Gorman.

Shauntel Efferson led Cimarron with nine points.
