BOYS BASKETBALL: Walker, Eagles use fourth-quarter rally to top Bulldogs

Marcus Walker scored 23 points Tuesday, and Boulder City’s boys basketball team rallied for a 60-55 home win over Virgin Valley.

Sam Woodbury added 20 points and hit two key 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for the Eagles, who outscored Virgin Valley 21-10 in the final eight minutes.

Walker and Xavier Steel helped the Eagles go 9-for-10 from the free-throw line down the stretch, and Boulder City finished 25-for-32 overall from the foul line.

Garrett Leavitt had 19 points, and Cody Burnside supplied 15 points for Virgin Valley, which led 32-19 at the half.

Cimarron-Memorial 84, Bonanza 83 — At Bonanza, Austin Garrison led five double-figure scorers with 21 points, and the Spartans made 10 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off the Bengals.

Cameron McKissic had 16 points, and JaDon Brown tallied 13 for Cimarron, which also got 12 points apiece from Kyle Skurow and Jaron Ponder.

Jamal Logan led Bonanza with 25 points, and teammate De’Andre Hicks scored 20. Ryan Glasper added 18 points, and D.J. Fletcher scored 11 for the Bengals.

Moapa Valley 50, Sunrise Mountain 45 — At Overton, Justin Hughes poured in 17 points to propel the Pirates to victory over the Miners.

Andrew Huerta added nine points for Moapa Valley, which trailed 12-9 after one quarter.

Damon Heard had 16 points to lead Sunrise Mountain, which got 10 points apiece from A.T. Sanders and Malik Cannon.

Centennial 66, Desert Oasis 52 — At Desert Oasis, Khalil Thompson scored 18 points to help the Bulldogs rally past the Diamondbacks.

Troy Brown added 15 points, and Eddie Davis scored 12 for Centennial, which trailed 26-24 at halftime and used a 23-12 fourth quarter spurt to pull away.

Rodrick Moore had 16 points, and Aamondae Coleman supplied 10 points and 13 rebounds for Desert Oasis.

Clark 62, Faith Lutheran 51 — At Clark, Colby Jackson scored 17 points to help the Chargers defeat the Crusaders.

Diontae Jones and Darius Jackson each scored 11 points to help Clark, and teammate Carter Olsen added 10 points.

Michael Holthus led Faith Lutheran with 12 points, and teammate Mitch Fulfer added 10 points.

Desert Pines 75, Chaparral 42 — At Desert Pines, Nate Grimes had 17 points and seven rebounds to help the Jaguars roll past the Cowboys.

Capri Uzan scored 14 points for Desert Pines, which led 38-14 at halftime. Teammate Coby Myles added 11 points.

Tyree McNeal led Chaparral with 16 points, and teammate Marc Silas finished with 12 points.

Bishop Gorman 76, Legacy 33 — At Gorman, Stephen Zimmerman had 16 points and 10 rebounds to help the Gaels clinch a share of the Southwest League title after routing the Longhorns.

Chase Jeter added 12 points, and Noah Robotham scored 11 for Gorman, which got eight assists from Obim Okeke.

Deshaun Hilliard led Legacy with 10 points.

Mojave 73, Pahrump Valley 51 — At Pahrump, Malik Abbott scored 19 points to lift the Rattlers over the Trojans.

Jordan Glenn added 12 points, and Kemario Williams scored 11 for Mojave.

Rudy Uresti and James Broadhead each had 14 points for Pahrump.

Cheyenne 61, Western 26 — At Cheyenne, Javon Peterson scored 17 points to help the Desert Shields cruise past the Warriors.

Ulises Santillan scored eight points to help Cheyenne, which took control early.

Wyatt Rozea led Western with nine points.

Calvary Chapel 58, Laughlin 46 — At Calvary Chapel, Killian Diers scored 15 points to help the Lions top the Cougars.

Quentin Hank added 13 points for Calvary Chapel.

Corey Anderson led Laughlin with 18 points.

Adelson School 68, Beatty 44 — At Adelson School, Sean Perry had 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Lions secured at least a share of the Division IV Southern League title with a win over the Hornets.

Jacob Elharar added 12 points, and Robert Blackwell and Jake Buchman each grabbed 10 rebounds for Adelson School.

Jacob Zamora had 18 points, and Jacob Oseguera scored 13 for Beatty.

Word of Life 55, Sandy Valley 36 — At Sandy Valley, Isaiah Manabat scored 16 points to help the Eagles top the Sidewinders.

Elijah Hoye had 11 points, and Malik Moore added 10 points for Word of Life.

Lane Eastham had 10 points for Sandy Valley.

Spring Mountain 51, Indian Springs 11 — At Indian Springs, Lagarrian Jones finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds as the Golden Eagles cruised past the Thunderbirds.

Nick Manning added 10 points for Spring Mountain, which held Indian Springs scoreless in the first quarter and led 31-4 at the half.

Nino Alvarez had five points for the Thunderbirds.

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
